(src: Find A Grave) Moir Curtis Weeks, 99, of Roanoke, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2007. Born on August 14, 1907 in Floyd, Va., he was the son of the late Esper Rose Weeks and Emma Harmon Weeks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Lenora Mantz Weeks. He is survived by his sister, Renva Knowles of Christiansburg; special friends, Gene and Sue Fulcher and Claude and Oreta Yelton; a very caring neighbor, Kathleen Pangburn; and many other cousins and friends. Mr. Weeks was a retired employee of the Radford Army Ammunition Plant with thirty-three years of service. He served in the United States Army during the World War II era and for a total of three and one-half years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Member of Taylor Masonic Lodge #23, Scottish Rite Shrine and Shrine Club, Salem Chapter #161 O.E.S., and Past Patron of the Salem Chapter #161 O.E.S. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 10, 2007 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Westview Cemetery in Radford. The Rev. Dave Vanderpool will officiate. Wilson, 92, of Carthage, Ill., died at 12:19 p.m., Monday, April 19, in the Hancock County Nursing Home. Born Oct. 4, 1911, in Denver, Ill., she was the daughter of Edward G. and Eula D. Cox Weeks. On Oct. 21, 1931, she married Harlan F. Wilson in Colchester, Ill. He died in July 1993. Mrs. Wilson was a homemaker. She also helped her husband on the farm. She attended Cottage School and Burnside High School. She was of the Christian faith. Survivors include one daughter, Jean Nutt of Carthage; one son, Duane Wilson of Carthage; nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, four sisters and one great-grandson. Visitation will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lamporte Funeral Home in Carthage. The funeral for Mrs. Wilson will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lamporte Funeral Home, with the Rev. Beth Rupe officiating. Burial will be in Moss Ridge Cemetery in Carthage. Weeks, 91, of Salem, Va., and formerly of Floyd County, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2009. He was a proud Army veteran having served during World War II, had retired after 46 years of service from the Virginia Department of Transportation, and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Salem. Preceding him in death were his parents, Cullen and Sally Weeks; brother, Curtis Weeks; and sister, Alpha Hylton. His surviving family includes his wife of 68 years, Reva Wade Weeks; brother, Marvie Weeks and wife, Ovada; and several nieces and nephews. Weeks but his parents HOH. 2015 Death: 1-13-2015 of Salem, VA. 2015 Obit: (src: Find A Grave) “I want to fly, fly away.” On Tuesday, January 13, 2015, Reva Wade Weeks, 96, of Salem, did indeed, fly away to join loved ones in Heaven. She was born January 27, 1918 in Indian Valley, VA, a daughter of the late Elvin Wyatt Wade and Ona Layman Wade. Her husband, Harry C. Weeks, preceded her in death on March 18, 2009. She was an active and long time member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Reva was a “Professional Volunteer,” she rolled bandages for the Red Cross during World War II, was always ready to help at church or any community activity or drive that could use a helping hand. At age 92, she read the Bible in its entirety and often said, “Why did I wait so long to do that?” She served as the Wade and Layman families’ historian, collecting, and compiling binders of genealogical information over the decades. Left to cherish her memory are nieces, Carolyn Shockley (Leo), Lea Ford (Ross) and Camellia Nolen (Curtis); numerous great nieces and nephews and beloved cousins Lois Hogue and Sammie Wade. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Ovada Weeks; longtime friend, Frances Trent and family, and special friend and neighbor, Glenn Tilley. The family would like to take this opportunity to express their sincere thanks to the staffs of Emeritus at Ridgewood Gardens, Raleigh Court Health and Rehabilitation Center and Good Samaritan Hospice. He was born in Willis, VA on August 4, 1926 to the late Cullen & Sallie Weeks. He was also preceded death by his two brothers, Curtis Weeks, Harry Weeks; and a sister, Alpha Hylton. Upon leaving Willis High School, he assisted his father in the operation of a 60 acre farm until entering the US Army. Marvie was inducted into the Army on December 22, 1944 and received his honorable discharge as Master Sergeant on December 7, 1946. He served his country with honesty and faithfulness and received many medals and honors along the way. He retired in 1988 after being a dedicated employee at the Radford Arsenal for 35 years. Left behind to cherish wonderful memories are his wife, Ovada Weeks; sons & daughter-in-law, James Weeks, Roger & Diana Weeks; daughter & son-in-law, Brenda & Dewayne Troutt; sister-in-law, Reva Weeks; seven grandchildren and spouses, Michelle (Darrell) Bourne, Jamie Weeks, Shawn (Cindy) Weeks, Lisa Huff, Dena (Dean) Wood, Denise (Stan) Webb, and Amanda Harmon; six great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2014 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dewayne Troutt officiating. Interment will follow in the Greasy Creek Cemetery with Military Rites by Floyd V.F.W. Post # 7854 and American Legion Post # 127. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 27, 1995 at 11 a.m. at the Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Holley officiating. Interment will follow in the Hall Family Cemetery in Pulaski County.
