Mr. Giles M Slusher, 75, 2027 Newman Street, died Saturday. A native of Floyd, VA , he came here in 1954 from Kewanee, Illinois. He had been manager of General Telephone Co of Illinois for 43 years. Mr. Slusher was a member of Lodge No 17 F&AM, Macomb, Illinois, past patron of the Macomb Eastern Star Chapter, member of American Legion in Orlando & a veteran of WWI. He attended First Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are: widow, Mary, brothers, William, Blandinsville, Ill, Sam & Ellis, Macomb, Ben, Media, Illinois, & John, Cleanwater; sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Welch, Blandinsville, Illinois, Mrs. Ellen Newman, Longview, Texas and Mrs. Esther Hylton, Portsmouth, VA.

He was a deacon and elder of the Macomb Baptist Church, former member of the Macomb YMCA board of directors, a past director of the Macomb Chamber of Commerce, and a former member of the prize-winning drum and bugle corps of Macomb American Legion post. He also was a member of Macomb Kiwanis Club and Macomb Masonic Lodge.
