mother, grandmother and wife, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2006. She was born in Floyd, Virginia on
September 6, 1920. She was the only surviving daughter born to Emma and
Willie Weeks. Ruby was predeceased by her brothers, Jack "Jim",
Bill "Lightning", Richard "Sig", Burley
"Pistol", Raymond "Rea." and Vernon "Lishic". She was also predeceased by husbands,
Wilson Harry Lile and Jack Pollard Smith. She is survived by her loving husband,
Cecil K. Stiff; daughter, Janet Lile Fray and her husband, J. Mike of
Fredericksburg, Va.; son, Rodney Wayne Lile and his wife, Elisabeth von Bulow
of Roanoke; grandson, Scott Fray of Flagstaff, Arizona; and granddaughter,
Joanna Fray of Alexandria, Virginia. She will be missed by numerous cousins,
nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, friends, and a large, loving extended
family. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at
Lotz Funeral Home in Salem, Virginia. Funeral services will be conducted by
the Rev. Larry Atkin, 2 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Edgewood Christian
Church, Peck Street, Roanoke, Virginia. Interment will be at Cedar Lawn
Cemetery. Her family would like to extend a very
loving thank you to Dorothy Weeks, "Dot", her sister-in-law and
good friend, who assisted her by any means to care for her in her final
months of life. Also, many thanks to the wonderful staff and volunteers of
the Good Samaritan Hospice of Roanoke who did everything necessary to provide
for Mom in her final months. The family requests that in lieu of flowers,
donations be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice, Edgewood Christian Church,
the American Heart Association, or your favorite charity. Mom, thank you for giving us so many
