… Rose, Levacy “Vica” I

Parents: unknown

What I DON”T KNOW: I really have no proof of her parentage but Levacy may indeed be another child of Moral & Elizabeth (Reed) Dickerson. I also don’t have any proof that Levacy Dickerson & Vica Rose are the same person, but I do think they are. I have no clue as to what the “Rose” is referring to .. a middle name or more likely a married last name BUT I can’t find a marriage record for a male Rose to a female Dickerson however..

What I DO KNOW: from Dewitt’s marriage record & the 1880 Census that she is their mother and both children married as Dickerson’s. Note that on son Dewitt’s & daughter Luana’s marriage records, a John Dickerson is noted as the father.

What I’m GUESSING: … is that John Dickerson, s/o Moral & Elizabeth (Reed) Dickerson, is the father of Dewitt & Luana, & Levacy/Vica Rose is the mother. Maybe John & Levacy were never married & Levacy was inadvertently referred to as a Dickerson in 1850 & by her maiden name of Rose thereafter … like I implied, just quessing. BUT I’m choosing to index her as Levacy Rose, parents unknown BUT I’m leaving her with the Dickerson’s (as well as the Rose’s) because her children were known as Dickerson’s.

I

Parents: Moral & Elizabeth (Reed) Dickerson.

1828 Birth: abt 1828 Floyd Co., VA.

1850 Residence: Floyd Co., VA with widowed mother as HOH.

?1850 Marriage #1: Kiturah Dickerson m. John H. Williams 11-23-1850 Floyd Co., VA by Owen Sumner.

I don’t believe the Ketura that m. this John H. Williams is the same that removed to Washington Co., VA. That appears to be John Samuel Williams & this marriage record clearly reads John “H.” Williams, however...

James T. & 1st wife Permelia (Reed) Dickerson [Dickerson_JamesT_1wives] & Moral & Elizabeth (Reed) Dickerson both have daughters named Ketura & both were born abt 1828/29. So which Ketura m. Mr. John H. Williams & which m. John Samuel Williams & removed to Washington Co., TN is still not clear to me. Any help would be welcomed. bootswi@gamil.com
