The Late William Allen Morton, Jr.
Stafford C.H., Va., April 21st, 1917
William Allen Morton, Jr., formerly of Stafford county, Va., aged 33 years, was killed by a train at Hyattsville, Md., this morning at 1:00 o'clock. He is survived by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. William Allen Morton, of Washington, and the following sisters and brothers, Mrs. Caroline Judd, of Boston, Mass.; John B. Morton, of Cornell University, N.Y.; Miss Lucy Byrd Morton, of Washington. He was a nephew of Mrs. C.A. Bryan, of this place.
He was a young man of great promise, of fine disposition and greatly beloved by all who knew him. The friends and connections of his parents in Stafford feel the deepest sympathy for them.
If he had lived he would have made a name for himself.
"And yet with Him who counts the
sands,
And holds the waters in his hands,
I know a lasting record stands,
Inscribed against his name."
