24 Sep 1879, Fredericksburg Newspaper, pg. 3, col. 3:

"Miss Kitty Shacklett died of paralysis at her residence near Delaplane, in Fauquier county, on the 26th of last August, in the 87th year of her age. Her house was for many years the favorite inn for travelers en route to Capon Springs."
