DIED
At her home, near Falmouth, Stafford, January 1, 1888, Miss
Annie J.
SNELLINGS, aged seventeen years, beloved daughter of William J. and Sarah
E. SNELLINGS. Our sister was ill about six weeks before death relieved
her of her sufferings. Patience, fortitude and resignation were the
characteristics which graced the last days of her life.
She united with the Ramoth Baptist church last May, and was a
consistent member until her death severed the connection on earth that
she might enter the Church Triumphant on High.
After a brief illness, her brother James W. SNELLINGS, of
Baltimore,
aged 23 years passed away, January 27th, 1888. His body was brought to
his father for interment. Side by side in the family burying ground lie
the sister and brother, and we trust that together their spirits are
rejoicing in Heaven.
We are glad to know that the brother made a profession of faith in Jesus
a few days before he died. May this be a comfort to his wife, parents and
friends, for whom our tenderest sympathies are called into being, this
making the third child his parents have been called on to surrender in
the last twelve months.
"When my heart is
overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than
I."
