7 Feb 1896, Fredericksburg Daily Star, pg 3, column 3:
"Death of An Exemplary Lady.
Died at the home of her parents in Stafford county, Va., Jan. 23rd, 1896, Minnie Tolson [Monimia E. Tolson], eldest daughter of Daniel W. [Webster] and Bettie [Elizabeth Scott Fairfax Botts] Tolson, aged 28 years. Whilst on a visit to a friend in a distant State, the deceased contracted a deep cold, resulting in pulmonary trouble, from which she suffered intensely for several months bearing her affliction with the greatest Christian resignation. Hers was a beautiful life upon earth, but how much more beautiful, when safely housed from temptation and care in that realm above not made with hands."
