I am from Roanoke VA and my family is mainly from the mountains of SW VA and the upper Shenandoah Valley near Lexington, VA. However my wife is a NASH with LUCK, SCOTT, WREN, FIZER, WOODSON, TALBOT and BUFORD links from the Bedford, VA area. We currently live in Athens, GA and I use the online name of "GA Roy". My wife's connection to the Buford Family is as follows:

Searching for parents of Gilbert Mason who was born in Bedford County about 1734 and died there in 1781. He married Elizabeth Dale about 1763 and owned land on the Little Otter and Staunton Rivers. His son, Reuben, migrated to Tazwell, Clairborne County, Tn. Gilbert was my ggggg grandfather. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Looking for information on Jane Martin that was supposed to have married Barnett Payne in Bedford County, Va in 1819. She is my 4th Greatgrandmother. Cannot find her parents or siblings. I know all the Payne information, but not the Martin side of my family. I was told her father was a William Basham. The only problem is neither of his wives was a Martin, I find no evidence he had a child by the name of Martin. Thank you for your help.

I Am looking for any information on TURNER, SNOW, CRAGHEAD, HEPTINSTALL, WILDMAN families in Bedford County, Lunenburg county, or Isle of Wight prior to 1850. I have information from 1850 to present on the TURNER family. I start with Elijah Harrison TURNER abt.1820 , m. Sarah A. Heptinstall b.9/25/1824 d.3/28/1916. Thomas Heptinstall Turner b.3/27/1849 d.2/23/1926 m. Valeria Jennie Snow 11/23/1870, b.8/6/1850, d.1/28/1922. Charles Thomas Turner b.2/28/1879 d.5/27/1948. (my grandfather) m. Docia Julia Craghead 2/25/1903. Any information, particularly info on Turners prior to Elijah Harrison, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
