She had lived in Richmond, Va. from 1958 to 1997 and in Charlotte, N.C. from 1997 to 2001. She received a BS from Radford College in 1940 and an MS from the University of Virginia in 1962 and was a longtime member of the Chamberlayne Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Richard P. Corbin M.D. and his wife, Claire B. Corbin of West Bath, Maine; four grandchildren, Eugenie C. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2015. After his wife's death he resided in Ann Arbor, Mich. to be near his niece Heather Allen, who survives him.
