Aldridge, 88, of Roanoke, and formerly of Check, Va., passed into the arms of his Lord and Saviour surrounded by his loving family on Friday November 13, 2009. Bure was a building contractor, working with many local builders, and also had a successful partnership with his son, Charles. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Artie H. Aldridge, brothers, Rex, Velmer, Garland, Willie and Lewis, and sisters, Valary, Lura, Garthie, Ercell, and Versie, son-in-law, George Woolridge, daughter-in-law, Martha Lee Aldridge, numerous nieces and nephews, and a grandson-in-law, Richard Garman. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Willis Aldridge, whom he married on December 23, 1939; his children and their spouses, Mary Woolridge, Sheldon Aldridge, Dennis and Margaret Aldridge, Charles and Peggy Aldridge, Nelda and Barry Wray, Shirley Aldridge, Donna and Claude Hall; grandchildren, Debbie, Darrell, Dreama, Ricky, Ronnie, Sissy, Richard, Fred, Charlie, Sheila, Travis, Joe, Brad, Chris, Beth, and Gary; 28 great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; one sister, Gladys Perdue; and one sister-in-law, Eva Aldridge.
