Bedford Co., VA Will Book 1, Pg 260, George GRIFFITH's will dated 5 Mar. 1777, proven 25 Aug. 1777 mentions wife (not named) and names children: Benjamin GRIFFITH; Luanah or Suanah BERTEN; Sarah STEVENSON; Rebecca STEVENSON; Ann ANDERSON; Mary ANDERSON; and George GRIFFITH; and witnesses were Swinfel HILL, Abel MEAD, and Jacob ANDERSON, according to a published abstract.
Seek information regarding these individuals. Especially would like any information regarding the two daughters, Ann ANDERSON and Mary ANDERSON. Who did they marry and where did they live? Also how were they related to Jacob ANDERSON?

I need to know where Hunts Spring Branch is. Does it flow into Otter River? Need something to document that the Betty Phelps of John Phelp's will is the Betty who married Francis Pollard. Era is mid to late 1700's. John Phelps left his daughter Betty some land on the mentioned Branch. I can't tell if it is included in the property Francis Pollard later sold.

I am seeking information on Robert Johnson, my g-g-grandfather. He was married to Mary Bowman. My grandfather's name was William Ernest Johnson (born 1863 in Bedford - passed away in Bedford around 1968.) All resided in Bedford County (Central District) on RFD #5 (Peaks of Otter). All are of African-American or Native American descent. Appreciate any assistance given.

Ancestors of Mead and his father, John HAILE/ HALE. Much of the info which I had received which showed these men to be descended from Nicholas I, II, and III seems to be incorrect. I'm trying to figure out how to go about correcting it and need to find proof that my Mead's parents were, indeed, John and Nancy Ann Overstreet HAILE. They would have been married ca 1768 which is before the records listed on the website. Can anyone help? This whole thing is really frustrating. Thanks so much,

Looking for the parents of Newberry Stockton b. 1778 in Bedford Co., VA, died 1842 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., IN. Newberry married Bethsheba Brannon daughter of Lawrence H. Brannon in Bedford Co. in 1801. Newberry and Bethsheba had most of their children in Bedford Co.; moved on to Greenbrier Co. by 1815, into Wayne Co., IN and were in Tippecanoe Co., IN by 1824. I have lots of clues pointing to Daniel Stockton of Albemarle Co. and Catherine Ferrall of Bedford Co. being Newberry's parents but need some more information to really be sure. Daniel is believed to have moved on to KY in the late 1790s.
