Ervin Kavilla Hylton, 78, of Alum Ridge, died Monday, March 28, 2005 at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg. He was born February 11, 1927 in Floyd County to Jabe Harman and Carsie Ella Weeks Hylton. He was a 35 year employee of Reed Lumber Company in Christiansburg and a ten year employee of Alum Ridge Auto Repair, Inc. in Alum Ridge. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jessaleen Amo Boothe Hylton. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Daryl and Wilma Hylton of Christiansburg; two daughters and son-in-law, Sharon and Russell Stump of Alum Ridge and Amy Hylton Adkins, of the home; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Mona Hylton of Richmond, Ind. and Nelson and Nancy Hylton of Roanoke; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Joe Dippery of Westminister, Md.; three brothers-in-law and two spouses, Andy and Peggy Boothe and Bobby and Venda Boothe, both of Roanoke, and Thurston Myers of Taneytown, Md.; a sister-in-law, Della Cooke of Lexington, N.C.; five grandchildren, Tabbi Greenhalgh, Jason Stump, Jon Stump, Adam Stump and Elizabeth Roope; two great; grandchildren, Shane Roope and Jillian Greenhalgh; and several nieces and nephews. Mary Della Burcham Cook, 81, of West Center Street Extension, died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Wake Forest Baptist Health — Lexington Medical Center after several months of declining health.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Guilford Memorial Park by the Rev. Clyde Akers. Burial will follow.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service at Davidson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cook was born July 24, 1932, in Carroll County, Va., to Elmer Rufus Burcham and Ella Mae Thompson Burcham. She was a retired employee of Harris & Covington Knitting Plant and was of the Baptist faith. Preceding her in death were her husband, Emory Tasville Hylton, March 7, 1994; daughter Beth Land (Della Bethel “Beth” Hylton Land, 1958-1994); and two brothers, Roy Burcham and Coy Burcham.

Surviving are two daughters, Karen Bingham (Bobby Sr.) of Sophia and Robin Epley (Charles) of Lexington; three brothers, Oneal Fayne and James Fayne, both of Thomasville, and Burlen Fayne of Colorado; two sisters, Mozell Wonderly of Thomasville and Laura Frances Cox of Galax, Va.; two half brothers, Bobby Hawkins of Trinity and Cecil Hawkins of Galax, Va.; two half sisters, Mary Ellen Roberts and Barbara Wright, both of Galax, Va.; five grandchildren, Bobby Bingham Jr., Janet Christian, Misty Nelson, Kelly Land and Ashley Teague; and two great-grandchildren.

June Elizabeth Harman Hylton, 95, of Christiansburg, went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. She was born in Willis, on June 16, 1917 to the late Shadrach Harman and Ellen Weddle Harman. She was predeceased in death by her loving husband, Julian "Pete" Hylton; three brothers, Clovis, Conley, and Warren Harman, and one sister, Cleda Harman. June was an active lifetime member of Laurel Branch Church of the Brethren, where, through the years, she led the music, taught Sunday School, and was church treasurer. After graduating from Willis High School, she worked at Floyd Garment Factory and retired after 40 years. She and her husband, Pete, had a dairy farm in the Laurel Branch community of Floyd County. She volunteered for Community Action RSVP, loved to quilt and crochet, and frequented the Floyd Country Store on Friday evenings. 
She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Georgianna Harman, of Christiansburg; and a sister, Irene Harman Lawson of Stoneville, N.C. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Greg Harman and Mary Jane King, of Blacksburg, Ellen Maxwell and husband, Eddie, of Christiansburg, Joyce Smith and husband, Bill, Judy Shumate and husband, Johnny, of Eden, N.C., Jimmy Lawson of Stoneville, N.C., Florence Harman Lichstein of Roanoke, Betty Harman of Vinton, Shirley Hylton Richards and husband, Robert, of Floyd along with many others. She is also survived by great-nieces and nephews; cousins; and friends who loved her dearly. 
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Angela Carr, Pastor Don Peters, Pastor Jerry Hylton, and Pastor Clyde Hylton officiating. Interment will follow at the Laurel Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. at Maberry Funeral Home prior to the service.
