SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR VETERANS
In the evening of February 15, 1898, the American battleship, U.S.S. Maine, blew up in Havana harbor. On April 25, 1898, the United States declared war against Spain. The Spanish-American war has often been called the "Splendid Little War." The war ended on August 12, 1898. Five Staffordians served in the Spanish-American War.
