KELLEY, MITCHELL, TANNER, YOUNG -
Nathaniel Tanner, the father, left a legacy of land to son Nathan in his LW&T recorded
in Bedford County, Oct 1781. Some months before his death, Nathaniel added a codicil, stating son
Nathan was "deceased". Within months, the Tanner's land fell into Campbell County.
Nathan Tanner, the son, is my ancestor and he did not die. "Revolutionary Soldiers of
Virginia" lists Nathan as serving in the Bedford Militia. What records relating to his
enlistment and service might be found in the Bedford County records? After the end of the
Revolutionary War, Nathan and Seth, his brother, settled in Sussex County, VA where both
married: Nathan to Mary Mitchell, 1786, and Seth to Sally Kelley, 1787. Nathan
returned home to find that his original legacy had been given to Joel, another brother. The
story ends with Nathan ultimately gaining possession of his legacy, also having two sons:
Nathan, Jr. and Nathaniel Tanner. His daughter, Elizabeth, married Nathaniel Young
in 1811, and they moved to Wythe and Tazewell Counties, VA. Nathan, the father, died in Campbell
County, 1814. Thanks for your assistance.

CROUCH, FOWLER, PARKER, WOOD -
Mary Crouch, daughter of William and Mildred (Wood) Crouch, married John
J.M. Parker in Bedford County on August 11, 1856. John was the son of James and Melvina
(Fowler) Parker. 1860 Botetourt Census shows John and Mary living there. 1870,
John was in Calhoun County, West Virginia and believe the Mary Parker who showed up in the
Botetourt County Poor House, was Mary Crouch Parker. Did she and John
have any children.? When and where did Mary die? Thanks.

BEWLEY, BULEY, HUCKABY -
My ancestor, JESSE BULEY, also spelled BEWLEY, lived in Bedford County. He married
MOLLY HUCKABY on September 25, 1802. He sold land in September 1806 and moved to Barren
County, KY. Researchers in our family have been unable to find any record of Jesse's parents; he
is our earliest known ancestor. I would appreciate any information which may lead to information
on Jesse or his family.
