BABER, MURPHY -
I am looking for information about Stephen MURPHY and relatives. Stephen married Lucy
BABER in Bedford County in 1820. He served during the War of 1812, and enlisted from
Bedford County in 1813. He is believed to have been born in 1793, a few weeks after his father
died. He may have been born in Maryland or Loudon County, VA, but probably moved to Bedford
County shortly afterwards. His mother's name was Rachael MURPHY, but I do not know his
father's name, or names of other relatives. Any information about Stephen or Rachael would be
appreciated.

JEWELL, RICHARDSON, RICHESON -
Reesden (also spelled "Risden") RICHARDSON (also spelled as RICHESON)
married Sarah "Sally" JEWELL on Nov. 26, 1818. They had 7 children (4 boys:
Noah, Alexander, Jewell (Juel), & Powell; and 3 girls: Sarah Jane, Elizabeth, & Jemima -
the last child born in 1831). I've been trying to find a line on this family prior to Reesden
(or Risden), but so far I've come up blank. There is no mention of Reesden in the 1810 Census
of Montgomery Co., VA. Family oral history has it that Risden and "his brothers"
moved into Montgomery County from down around Roanoke/Bedford, VA. So far this has been the end
of the line for me. Anybody having anything on Risden (Reesden) RICHARDSON would be a
welcome sight! There were also a Jacob and a Soveron "RICHESON"
(RICHARDSON) listed along with "Risden" in the 1820 Census - not sure if there
was a connection, and as I said this has been the end of the line for me. Thanks for any
information.

HADLEY, IRVIN, IRVINE, SOUTH -
I am researching my mother's ancestors. Robert IRVIN married Mary SOUTH in Bedford
County, Virginia, about 1770 and died in 1798 in Logan County, Kentucky. Sixth son (of 10
children) Jesse IRVINE was born in Logan County, Kentucky, in 1790, and died in Gentry
County, Missouri, about 1846. He married Margaret HADLEY, in Todd County, Kentucky, in
1810. His widow and children were early pioneers (1852) to Oregon. I have much info on
IRVINEs after they reached Oregon, but am trying to trace early history of Robert
IRVIN. Any assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

GATHRIGHT, HARDING, MOSELEY -
My 6th ggrandfather was Miles H. GATHRIGHT, Jr., born in VA in the mid 1700s. He married
a woman named Elizabeth in 1769 and they had five children that I know of: Sarah (my line),
William Mosby, Mary, Joel, and Ambrose. Sarah married in Bedford County. Can anyone identify
Elizabeth's parents and where they were from? Since her first son had the middle name of Mosby,
I suspect it MAY have been her maiden name. My ancestor Sarah GATHRIGHT married Edwin
MOSELEY in Bedford County in the 18th century. Can anyone identify the relationship of
Edwin to Anne MOSELEY (daughter of Henry MOSELEY), who married Thomas
HARDING in Northampton County in the mid 1600s? Any help gratefully received. Will share
my information on the GATHRIGHTs (back to early 1600s) and the Hardings (starting
in 1565 in England).
