Researching a possible Bedford County link to my ALLEN family. I am looking for information on Robert ALLEN, whose will was filed in Bedford County, c. 1770, and his son Reynolds ALLEN, who died in same county c. 1779. Reynolds ALLEN wife was Mary maiden name unknown (to me). Their children, according to the will, were: Ann Thomas; Elizabeth Brogan; Mary; Edward; Thomas; John; James; Milley. I am desperately looking for one of my husbands' ancestors parents. Jasper BONDURANT/BUNDERANT whom I think was married to a Matilda Gibbs. Their daughter is Sarah Elizabeth BONDURANT born abt 1832, died 7 Oct 1892. She was married to a Thomas T. WHITE. They were living in Bedford Co., in the 1850 census. My familty name is Rowsome and I am trying to work out where it originated. We have been in Ireland since 1650. I have found namesakes in the Ontarion graves list. Some emigrated to Ontario in 1817 and from same village as my forebears in Co. Wexford, Ireland. Others were there in Ontario from the 1700's at least. Most interesting of all- while surfing I found a Rebecca Rousom (an earlier spelling) - married to James Bounds of Roanoak Bedford Co. VA. He was born c. 1723 and his niece was married to Nathan Boone - son of Daniel Boone. I am trying to find out as much as I can about how the name got to Bedford Co. and if she had other relations. To recap: Rebbecca Rousom (or Rowsome) married to James Bounds Jr. B. 1723 in Roanoak. Many thanks
