Margie Marilyn Keith FLOYD, Va. Margie Marilyn Keith, 85, passed
away Friday, February 14, 2014, in Floyd. She was preceded in death by her
parents, Jabe and Hattie Keith; two half-brothers, Lois Keith, and Chris
Keith; two half-sisters, Nova Shelor, and Elizabeth Weir; and a sister,
Ruby K. Reed. She is survived by three sisters, Melva Largen, of Pulaski,
Katy Reed, of Brooklyn, Mich., and Wilma Reed, of Floyd; and several nieces
and nephews. Margie was born January 14, 1929, in Willis, Va. Upon
graduation from Willis High School in 1946, she attended Hiwassee Jr.
College. Following completion of their program, she began her career as an
executive secretary in Nashville, Tennessee. After living in Nashville for
34 years, she moved to Dallas, Texas, and worked there until retiring in
2000, and moving back to Floyd County with her vast collection of books. As
per Margie's request there will be no visitation, funeral or memorial
service. The family will have a private memorial at a later date. No
flowers, please. If friends wish to acknowledge Margie's passing, the
family suggests memorial gifts to the Keith Cemetery at Wilma K. Reed,
Treasurer, 372 Long Level Rd., Floyd, VA 24091.

Rodgers was born on June 30, 1936 in Floyd County to Nova E. (Keith) and
Field Scott Shelor.
She graduated from Wilson Memorial High School and Radford University.
Nancy taught in Staunton public schools for 32 years, retiring in 1991.
She is survived by the father of her sons, Robert Ray Rodgers; her son,
David; two sisters, Nellie Carwile and Connie Robinson; two grandchildren,
Sue Ellen Clark and Matthew Rodgers; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and
Tristan Clark; two nieces, Julie Plante and husband Jerry, and Christie
Duffy and husband Dale; two nephews, Kent Carwile and wife Amy, and Steve
Robinson and wife Heather; two great-neces, Madeline and Morgan Duffy; and
a devoted friend and “daughter,” Patricia Breeden and husband Wayne.
Nancy was preceded in death by a son, Brett Scott Rodgers, in 2000; and a
brother, Richard Shelor, in 2008.
The most significant event of her life was her conversion to Jesus Christ
in 1979. From that point it was her desire to be a testimony to the saving
grace of her Lord and Savior. She attended Truth, Light and Life Ministries
in Penn Laird.
On March 29, 2018 she entered the Church triumphant. She fought a good
fight, kept the faith, and faithfully served the Lord.
A burial service will be held Monday, April 2, 2018 in Keith Cemetery,
Floyd County.
Memorial Service Sunday, April 15, 2018 in Truth, Light and Life
Ministries, Penn Laird, Va., with Pastor Mahlon Riehl officiating.
Bear Funeral Home is serving the family.

of Pulaski, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 6, 2003.
He was retired from Big Spring Mills, Elliston, Va. and was a member of the
Christiansburg Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Hugh served in the U. S. Army in World War II and the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Weir of Pulaski; daughter, Mrs.
Lynn McLerren of North Augusta, S.C.; sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Bloom of
Pennsylvania, and Ann School of Tonawanda, N.Y.; grandsons, Gabriel Dobbs
and Zachary Dobbs of North Augusta, S.C.
Memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund, Christiansburg
Pentecostal Holiness Church, P.O. Box 578, Christiansburg, Va. 24068. There
will be no visitation.
Graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2003
at Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg with Rev. Richard Kingrea and Rev.
