Allen "Good Kid" Jackson

Funeral services for Allen "Good Kid" Jackson, 93, of Van Vleck will be held 2 p. m. Saturday at St. John Baptist Church in Van Vleck with the Rev. James Ashton officiating. Burial will be at the Burial Association Cemetery in Van Vleck. Visitation will be until 9 p. m. today at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home.

Mr. Jackson was born Aug. 22, 1989 in Allenhurst to William and Carrie Round Jackson and died Feb. 27, 1933 at Matagorda General Hospital.

He was a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include four daughters, Carrie M. Jackson of Houston, Costella Bonner, Irma Sidney and Cherries Edwards of Bay City; a son, John M. Jackson of Houston; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Martha Jackson, and a stepson, Victor Wiggins.

Pallbearers will be Victor Wiggins, Bruce Abbott, DeWayne Abbott, Vuner Jackson, Victor Williams and Lloyd Jackson. Honorary pallbearers are Harris Williams Jr., John Bonner Jr., James Bonner, Victor Jackson, the Rev. Larry Jackson and Leroy Sidney.

Arrangements are with Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home in Bay City.

Carrie Mae Jackson went to be with our Lord on November 21, 2008.

She is survived by: two sons, Harris R. Williams, Jr. of Houston, Texas, and Victor Williams of California; sisters and brother and a host of loving relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 11 a. m. until 9 p. m. Friday, November 28, 2008, at Johnson Funeral home, 5730 Calhoun Rd. Houston, Texas 77021. A funeral service will be held at 1 p. m. Saturday, November 29, 2008, at St. John Baptist Church, Van Vleck, Texas.

Funeral services for Diann Jerrols, of Bay City, Texas, formally of Houston, Texas, will be Saturday, November 7, 2015, 11 a.m., at Mother Zion Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Murray Martin, officiating.

Burial will follow immediately after services at Burial Association in Van Vleck, Texas. 

Visitation will be Friday, November 6, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., in the chapel of Green’s Mortuary.

Alice Bernice Johnson

Alice Bernice "A. B." Johnson

Mrs. Alice Bernice "A. B." Johnson, 67, of Bay City, will be held at 3:30 p. m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998 at Enterprise Baptist Church in Bay City, Rev. J. Weldon Gilbert, pastor, and Rev. T. L. Richardson, eulogist. Burial will follow at Burial Association Cemetery in Van Vleck. Visitation will be Friday, until 9 p. m. in the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel.

She was born in Wharton, Monday, Feb. 23, 1931, to Rev. Dan Thompson and Cora Brown Thompson, and died Tuesday August 11 at St. Luke Hospital in Houston.

She was a kind and sweet person who was always willing to find her place "in the sun," and fulfilling the scripture from Ephesians 4:32a, which states, "And be ye kind one to another."

Survivors include four daughters, Delores Sardinea, Lee Ella Wiley and Ethel Thomas all of Bay City, and Sharon Newman of Lubbock; seven sons, Johnny Johnson, Sr. of Lubbock, Robert Johnson of Waco, Leroy Johnson of Tulsa, OK, Earl Johnson, Sr., Alphonso Williams, Jonathan Johnson, Sr., and Russell Thomas, Jr., all of Bay City; 36 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, three sisters, Dilcey Williams and Hattie Sanford of Bay City, and Sarah Stredic of Beaumont; and one brother, George Ward of Centerville; a great aunt, Anita Gipson of San Francisco, CA, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and a family of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Pearlie Thompson; and two brothers, James Riggins, Sr., and General Ward.

Active pallbearers will be Byron Gaskin, Victor Lewis Nelson Sardinea, Thomas Young, Kenneth Ray Brinkley and Jim Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will include Keith Brinkley, Quinnon Casey, Willie Rollins, July Franklin and Gifford Johnson, Jr.

Earl Johnson

Funeral Services for Earl Johnson, 43, of Bay City will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21 at Enterprise Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. J. Weldon Gilbert Pastor and Rev. T. L. Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Burial Association Cemetery in Van Vleck. He will lie in state at Enterprise Missionary Baptist Church from noon to 1 p.m. Visitation will be Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. Family will receive friends from 7-8 in the Chapel at Green's Mortuary.

On March 2, 1957 Earl Johnson was born to Ellis White Sr. and Alice B. Johnson in Bay City. He passed away Dec. 13, 2001 at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston.

He is survived by: his wife Veleta Johnson of Dallas; two sons, Charles Williams of Bay City, and Earl Johnson Jr. of Wichita, Kansas; one daughter, Veleta Thomas of Bay City; one granddaughter, Champbell Jones of Houston; his father and stepmother, Ellis White Sr. and Joann of Bay City; six sisters and brothers-in-law, Delores Sardina, Lee Ella and Charlie Wiley, Ethel Thomas, Barbara and Lewis King and Lisa and Ricky Marsh of Bay City, Sharon and Lester Newman of Lubbock; nine brothers and sisters-in-law, Johnny and Nancy Johnson of Lubbock, Robert and Nina Johnson of Waco, Leroy and Brenda Johnson of Tullsa, Okla.; Alphonson Williams, Jonathon Johnson,Russell and Monda Thomas, Hollis White, Ellis Jr. and Elnora White, all of Bay City, and Lloyd White Sr. of Houston; three aunts, Ossie Mills, Hattie Stanford, Dilcey Williams all of Bay City;one uncle, George Ward of Centerville, Texas; four sisters-in-law, Emma Poncil and Oneda Smith of Wichita, Kansas, Mary Bagby of Lubbock, Novella Richardson of Dallas; two brothers-in-law, Billy Smith and Forice Moses of San Antnonio; mother-in-law, Mary Smith of Dallas; great-great niece, A'Mayah Payton of Bay City; godsister, Pinky Austin of Bay City, and a host of other nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Bernice Johnson, who passed away Aug. 11, 1998.

Ed Johnson

Funeral services for Ed Johnson, 73, of Bay City will be Saturday, August 14, at 10 a. m. at Enterprise Baptist Church with Rev. J. W. Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow at Burial Association Cemetery in Van Vleck.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon until 9 p. m. in the chapel at Green's. Family will receive friends from 7 p. m. to 9 p. m. Friday night. Mr. Johnson will lie in state at the church Saturday morning from 9 a. m. to 10 a. m.

Mr. Johnson died Tuesday, August 10, 1999 at the Seabreeze Rehabilitation Healthcare Center. He was born July 22, 1926 to the union of Ed Johnson Sr. and Nellie Chambers Johnson in Needville.

He is survived by a loving and devoted niece Eddie Mae Griggs of Bay City, three sisters, Dilcey Williams and Gussie Grant of Bay City, Lou Berta Ashton of Victoria; one sister-in-law, Martha Johnson of Bay City, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Paul Johnson, Curtis L. Johnson, Herbert L. Fields, Willie Franklin Jr., Michael Edison, Cleveland Fields, Troy Griggs and Greg Canti.

Honorary pallbearers are Wesley Johnson, Gifford Johnson Jr., James L. Johnson and Shannon Joshua.
