Ricky Abbott was born on June 8, 1962, to Lillie Mae Abbott and Charles Williams, Sr. Ricky was baptized at an early age at Ashwood Union Baptist Chuch, under the leadersnip of Rev. M. Boone. He attended public schools in Van Vlack ISD. In 2013, Ricky accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Ricky loved living the country lifestyle and was a self proclaimed #1junkman in Matagorda County. He had a passion for country music. Ricky had a good heart to help anyone that he came in contact with that needed it. Ricky had no biological children but loved his nieces, nephews and god-son Malik Burnett dearly. He answered the call from his heavenly father to come home and be at rest on February 6, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Ricky leaves to mourn two sisters, Katina Abbott (Nate), Ora Lee Arkless (Simon); five brothers, Russell Abbott, Timothy Abbott, Charles Williams (Liz), Fredrick Austin and Robert Austin, and a host of aunts, uncles, nices, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers: Tommy Abbott, Robert Austin, De'Andre Burnett, Larry Davis, Eddie Harris, Roy Robinson and Charles Williams. Funeral services for Pierce Alexander, 65, of Old Ocean, will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2003, at the St. John Baptist Church in Van Vleck, with the Rev. Ruben Newell officiating. Burial will follow at the Burial Association Cemetery in Van Vleck. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p. m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. He was born Saturday, Feb. 12, 1938, in Brazoria County to Lexie Alexander Sr. and Tennessee Parks Alexander, and passed away Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at the Methodist Hospital in Houston. Survivors include: his wife of 33 years, Leonteen Alexander of Old Ocean; one daughter, Janice Hudson of Brazoria; and three sons, Larry Helms (and Marilyn) of Dallas, Larry Alexander of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mike Banks of Brazoria; also one granddaughter, Jwana; one sister, Ora Lee Hawkins of La Marque; and three brothers, Henry Alexander of Danciger, Anthony Alexander of Houston, and the Rev. Hollis Hall of Freeport. His caretaker, Ruby Revis and a host of other relatives and friends also survive. Aliniece was born in Van Vleck, Texas, Saturday, March 27, 1915, to John Aliniece, and Inez Hayes Aliniece, and passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 1996, in Bay City, Texas. He retired from Texaco Co. after many years of loyal service. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Jeanette King Aliniece of Bay City, and two daughters and one son-in-lw, Mrs. Lillie Cook of Maywood, Illinois, and Mrs. Arlene Franklin (& Curtis, Sr.) of Bay City. Also three granddaughters, Judi and Diane of Bay City, and Cynthia of Oak Park, Illinois. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Beverly Ann Fields of Sweeny, and a brother and sister-in-law, John Aliniece, Jr. (& Johnnie Mae) of Van Vleck. Also a host of nieces, nephews, a host of cousins, other relatives and a family of friends. Frances Melvina Anderson, 69, of Bay City died July 18 in the Matagorda General Hospital. Survivors include: widower, Eugene (Jack) Anderson of Van Vleck; daughter, Mrs. Maude A. Thompson of Houston; sons, Kenneth Anderson and Thomas Stroman of Van Vleck, Brroklyn Boxley, J. B. Stroman, Lloyd Tims and Johnny Stroman Jr., all of Houston; foster daughters, Mrs. Mary L. Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Boone, 88, of Van Vleck, will be held at 11 a. m. on Saturday, August 1, 1998 at the St. John Baptist Church in Van Vleck, Rev. Ruben Newell officiating. Burial will follow at the Burial Association Cemetery in Van Vleck. Visitation will be until 9 a. m. Friday in the Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home chapel and from 10 a. m. until 11 a. m. at the church. Mrs. Boone was born in Van Vleck on May 19, 1910 to George McCall and Vina Gray McCall. She died Friday, July 24, at the Methodist hospital in Hospital. She was a lifelong member of St. John Baptist Church in Van Vleck, where she served faithfully, and proved to be a good follower. Her fraternal involvements included Secretary/Recorder for the Progressive Order of Pilgrims, and Treasurer of the Heroines of Jericho, Scarlet Cord #145, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and Christian. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Cassie Manning and husband Freddie of Houston; two sons and daughters-in-law, Leon Boone Jr. and wife Rose of Van Vleck, and Ellie Leroy Boone, Sr. and wife Wilma of Galveston; 21 grandchildren, Anthony Kendrick, Yolanda Allen, Charlotte Heard, Melva Mack, Matthew King, Jr., Helen Griggs, Tonia Perry, Vina Randall, Gregory Boone, Kevin Winston, Wendall Winston, Cedric Henry, Pamela Harrison, Paula Rowe, Fredric Manning, Katrina King, Jackie Hayes, Michael Boone, Toni Harrison, and Sonia Kay Boone; 39 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Thurmond Tolbert of Needville; special friends, Lee Vella Johnson, Ray King, Stella King, and Althea Franklin; as well as a host of other much appreciated relatives and friends.
