ANDERSEN, JENSDATTER, NELSON, NIELSEN posted by Peggy Maier on Tuesday, April 1, 2003

Searching for my great-grandfather James Christian NELSON. Came to US in 1873 aboard ship 'Humboldt' into NY. According to his passenger list info, he stated that he was going to Green Bay, WI. Perhaps had relatives there? His Danish name was Jens Christian NIELSEN. I do not know if (or for how long) he remained in Green Bay. Family history says he lived in ND; later moving to Des Moines, IA; then OK & TX. His parents were Niels ANDERSEN & Johanna Christiane JENSDATTER. Would be interested in hearing from anyone with information & will be happy to share my 35+ yrs research info on this family.

I am looking for the family of John DOHERTY (DOUGHERTY) born abt. 1836 in Ireland and his wife Anne WALSH born abt. 1839 in Ontario, Canada. BRIQUELET, DENIS, DEVORSE, DITZMAN, DOUSMAN, EMPEREUR, SCHAUT posted by John Williams on Friday, May 16, 2003

I am researching the BRIQUELET family that originated in the Brown County area of Wisconsin. It started when Joseph Briquelet came here from France with his wife Agnes. All people in the US with the name Briquelet are probably descendants of this family. Other surnames related include DEVORSE, DENIS, DOUSMAN, DITZMAN, L'EMPEREUR, and SCHAUT. Most of these families still live in Wisconsin, though some have migrated to other states.

SCHNIEDER, SNYDER posted by Dawn Collins on Friday, July 4, 2003

I am in search of finding my relatives Marx SCHNIEDER born Feb.27, 1829 and passed away Aug. 8, 1917 or a Carl SNYDER. I am trying to figure out who is the father of Frank Snyder born in Morrison on July 30, 1858. I have mixed up info that I am trying to sort. I know that the church that I am looking for is brick, and the cemetary is on the opposite side of the road down the road. I was told that this individual donated the land for the church. Wondering if you have any info that may help me through this search. I have a picture of my Grandfather in front of the church in the 1980's, and can not pick out the church's name , but can read united methodist. My grandfather has now past, and I am trying to help put the pieces together for my grandmother.

LEONHARD posted by Matt Leonhard on Saturday, July 5, 2003

I am looking for information on the decendants of Peter LEONHARD. Peter was one of 4 brothers that came over from Germany in the 1850-1870 timeframe. They all show up in the 1870 & 80 census' for Wrightstown. I have attached the 1870 and 1880 census records for Peter from Wrightstown. The 4 brothers were Jacob, Franz, Johann and Peter (born Franciscus Wendelinus). The one son of Peter's (that I know of) Friedrich, disappeared in the 1880 census. I'm pretty certain Barbara Peter's oldest daughter) married Alex Ernest (Ernst), but haven't found any info on the rest of the family (deaths of Peter, Mary, marriages etc...). I have searched & spent many hours looking for any info on Ancestry.com and all the other online sites. I have sent for records from the WI Historical Society but no good. I know Jacob & John are buried in St. Mary's in Greenleaf. Franz and family (and Alex Ernest) moved to Glenwood City. Franz & his wife are buried in Glenwood City. Most of Franz's family ended up in Tony/Ladysmith. But, after the 1880 census, Peter's family disappears. Everything I have found is on www.myfamily.com Use aguest31 for user and password. Any help or a recommendation for a researcher would be welcomed!

WARREN, insurance agent, office-room No.4 Spaulding's block, is a native of Ohio; came to this State in 1854, and to Green Bay in 1866, since which time he has been thoroughly identified with the business interests of this city and vicinity. He was for four years secretary, treasurer and general manager of the Monitor Iron Works at Fort Howard, has taken an active part in all efforts to increase the manufacturing industries and carrying facilities of this section, and is the corresponding secretary of an association formed for that purpose. He represents the First Ward of this city in the County Board of Supervisors for Brown County. Any help in determining the identity of A. A. Warren will be much appreciated.
