Harman; sister, Rita Louise Lawson; brother-in-law, Eugene Helms; special
friends, AJ & Joan Boyd; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at
11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 in the Harman Cemetery (Fairview
Church Road) with Pastor Jason Pratt officiating.
Masks should be worn when attending
services at the graveside.

Shirley Moore Harmon, 76, of
Floyd, died Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at Golden Living Center in
Martinsville.
She was born May 5, 1935, in Wake Forest, N.C., to Joe and Thelma Lovell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of
57 years, Carl E. Harmon, Sr.; a son, Carl Harmon, Jr.; and a brother,
Fred Moore, Jr.
She retired from the Hillsville Sara Lee plant with 25 years of service.
Surviving is two sons: Richard Harmon of Floyd and Dwayne Harmon of
Germany; four sisters: Dorothy Moore and Lillie Sapp, both of
Martinsville, JoAnne L. Hairfield of Critz, and Marian L. Stearn of Palm
Beach, Calif.; and one brother, J. Pete Lovell of Harrisburg, N.C.
A graveside memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Harmon
family cemetery in Floyd.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, National Capital
Area Chapter, 3701 Pender Drive, Suite 400, Fairfax, Va. 22030; or
American Heart Association, 4504 Starkey Road, Suite 115, Roanoke, Va.

Estelle Harman McKinney of 1800
Vaughan St., South Boston, VA, died Wednesday, August 4, 2011, at the age
of 80.
She was born in Floyd Co., VA, on March 6, 1931, to the late John Milton
Harman, Sr. and the late Veda Hall Harman.
Ms. McKinney was a retired ABC store manager.
She was a member of Grace Baptist Church, a former member of the Tuesday
Women's Club, a former board member of the Halifax Co. Historical Museum,
and a former volunteer at Halifax Regional Hospital.
Survivors include a son, Dale A. McKinney, and wife, Angela, of South
Boston, VA; a brother, William Ray Harman, and wife, Edith, of Halifax, VA;
three grandchildren: Cole McKinney, Burke McKinney, and Telisa McKinney;
two great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Brenda Tilley of South Boston.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2011, at 2:00 PM at
Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brian Simmons officiating.
The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00
PM until 2:00 PM and at other times at the home of Dale & Angela
McKinney, 1800 Vaughan St., South Boston, VA.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to
Halifax Regional Hospice, 2204 Wilborn Ave., South Boston, VA 24592; or
Alzheimers Association, Southeastern Virginia Chapter, 6350 Center Drive,
Suite 102, Norfolk, VA 23502.
