Jo Ann
Sowers Hale of Salem, Va., passed away Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Richfield
Recovery and Care Center. Jo Ann was born September 27, 1932 to the late
Jabe and Stella Poff Sowers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her
brothers, Luther and Troy; sisters, Rheba Mabery Vaughn and Winnie Bowers.
She is survived by her daughters, Margurite Ann Sink, Kay Barbour and
husband Mike, Vickie Sanders and husband Roger; grandchildren, Heather
Steyn, Andy Sink and wife Laura, Jeremy Barbour and wife An, Jonathan
Barbour and wife Megan, Krystal Snavely; great-grandchildren, Rylan,
Griffin, Keegan, Elsie, Luella; stepchildren, Mitzie, Teppi and Joe; her
many nieces and nephews that she was so very fond of. Funeral service will
be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Maberry Funeral Home with
Pastor Mindy Chaffin officiating. Interment to follow in the Barringer
Cemetery. Family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m., prior to the
funeral service. The family would like to thank staff at Richfield Recovery
and Care Center and at the Joe Thomas Center for their kind dedication. In
lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Mountain
Trails Animal Rescue, 315 French St., Pearisburg, VA 24134. Jo Ann will be
greatly missed by her Family and Friends.

Pearl Shelor, 81, died at the home of a sister, Mrs. Lee Alderman, on
Saturday, September 15, 1962. Miss Shelor is survived also by two other
sisters, Mrs. Emma Hill, Radford, and Mrs. Lawrence A. (Lockie) Rhudy, Elk
Creek, Grayson County, and one brother, Waitman Shelor, Willis. Funeral
services were conducted at 2:00 p. m. Monday at Maberry Funeral Home by the
Rev. B.S. Pttsinger, pastor of the Floyd Methodist Church, and the Rev.
Leon Carico. Interment was in Barringer Cemetery, Willis.

Alderman Sowers, 82, of Willis, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2004, at
Skyline Manor Nursing Home. She was the widow of Troy L. Sowers. Survivors
are a son and daughter-in-law, William Ray (Billy) and Freeda Sowers of
Willis; daughters and son-in-law, Wanda Bolt, Sandra and Gary Dillon of
Willis; sisters, Gertha Aldridge of Vinton, Freeda Gragon of Leonardtown,
Md., Ruby Gray of Lexington, Md.; grandchildren, Tommy Sowers, Michele
Lytton, Kevin Sowers, Mickey Bolt, Jimmy Wayne Radford; step-granddaughter,
Kristen Dillon; eight great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2004, at the Maberry
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Turpin officiating. Interment will be in
the Barringer Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
Thursday at the Maberry Funeral Home (540-745-2121).

Camron Sowers and Chandler Sowers; stepson, Donnie Hash, G a l a x;
stepdaughter, Joyce Bowers, Lexington; sisters and brother-in-law, Wanda
Bolt and Sandra and Gary Dillon all of Willis; nephews, Micky Bolt and
Jimmy Wayne, Radford; and niece, Michelle Litton. Funeral services will be 11
a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd,
with the Rev. Joe Quesenberry and the Rev. Roy Turpin officiating.
Interment will follow at Barringer Cemetery, Willis. Friends may call at
Maberry Funeral Home after 12 noon Monday where the family will receive
