Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Kurtz and Carol Alderman, Clintwood, Bob and Marie Alderman, Blacksburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna and William Whitener, Cary, N.C.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, August 31st, at Topeco Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Ralph Spradling and the Rev. William Stovall officiating. Interment will follow in Topeco Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Maberry Funeral Home.

She was the widow of Iford E. Sutphin.
