My Gr Grandmother Adale J. Donovan married Arthur James Grier. They too lived in Colfax County and raised their 7 children: Luella Emily, Lottie Belle, Aubrey Jennings, Arthur Albert, Harold Addison and Dorothy Louise.
My Grandma Luella Emily Grier married Franklin Leslie Brown, son of Charles Brown and Caroline/Carrie/Carry Fisher Brown.
I would love to hear from anyone who has any of the above names in common so we can share information.

According to a census of Colfax County, date unknown, Charles was listed as a Civil War veteran who served in Company F. of the 9th New York Cavalry. He was wounded August 1, 1863, during the Battle of Brandy Station, Virginia. This battle involved the largest number of Calvary Units that ever engaged in hostilities on the North American Continent.
At some point, Charles Brown moved to Santa Barbara, California and died there March 1928.
My query is for any descendants of Charles or Oscar Brown who might shed light on his activities in Colfax County. Please contact me for additional information. Kenneth L. Vogt
I believe my grandfather's family (Wegener) also lived in Colfax County. My grandfather was named Theodore Wegener and he had a brother named Conrad. He had 6 sisters, but I do not know any of their names.
Any information about them would also be appreciated.

I was doing some searching on the internet on the 1880. I found the following:

First of all what is very intriguing is that Joseph and Eva Valenta (Walenta) had a daughter named Margaret. She was born 2-21-1852 at House #30 in Cermna, Bohemia. This would make her 28 years old during the 1880 census, which is what she listed her age as.
Secondly, there were SEFCIK's that were living in Kewaunee County at the same time and in the same area as the Valenta's. In fact, I have record of a FELIX SEFCIK, born 4-7-1844 at House #44 in Milavce, Bohemia. This individual would also be a extended cousin of mine.
It sure looks to me like this family moved to Nebraska from Kewaunee County, Wisconsin. If there is ANYONE in Nebraska that might know anything about this family, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.
