Peter ARNOLD settled in Colfax county in 1870, near the present site of Howells. He immigrated from Germany, but I have been unable to find any information on him. He is my Great Grandfather. He later moved to Schuyler, where several children were born, including my Grandfather, John Peter ARNOLD, I believe on Sep. 26, 1879, and a son "Lorin" or "Louis" born on Sep. 23, 1882. He married Marguerite Louise CONRAD before immigrating from Germany, and she joined him in Ne. 1874. Marguerite's mother joined them in 1875. Her name was Louise CONRAD, but I don't know what part of Germany any of them came from, or where they were born. Peter, Marguerite, and Louise are buried in Shelton, Ne. Lorin, at some time, followed the Mormon movement to Salt Lake City, Ut., where he died of typhoid fever. He is also buried in Shelton. I have been unable to find a record of his family, other than the fact that he was married, and his wife did not go to Salt Lake with him.

I am seeking information about the surnames above. I have a copy of a marriage record for Anna HAVLIK and Joseph ZELENY dated 10-6-1885. The marriage took place at Schuyler, in Colfax County, NE. On the marriage record Joseph ZELENY'S age was 26, and place of birth was Bohemia. Anna HAVLIK was age 18, born in Bohemia, and she listed her parents as Joseph HAVLIK and Anna KRONTIL or Anna KROUTIL. I thought I had found Anna's father, Joseph Havlik to have been living in Saunders County, but it has proven to be another Joseph HAVLIK, NOT the one I was searching for. I have had great difficulty locating any data on the KRONTIL family, so I am also trying the surname spelled as KROUTIL. I would appreciate any assistance with the surnames given.
