Josephine "Jay" Vaccaro (nee Cipiti), wife of the late Croce; mother of Mary "Marie" Gillombardo and James (wife Pamela); grandmother of Maria Gillombardo (husband Jason Scott), Gina Gillombardo (husband Thomas Naypauer Jr.), Lyssa Gillombardo, Jamie and Brian Vaccaro; great grandmother of Isabel and Lillian Scott and Josephine Naypauer; sister of Rose LoPresti (deceased), Joseph, Nick and Anthony Cipiti and Mary LaCorte. Vadovich, Rudolph Edward "Pops"

Rudolph "Pops" Edward Vadovich, 82, passed away on July 19, 2006. He was born on June 19, 1924, in Breckenridge, Michigan, to Rudolph L. Vadovich and Johanna Wech. He was one of eight children. He was in the U.S. Navy WWII and served on the S.S. Eugene Hale, the U.S.S. Yorktown, Randolph, and Leyte. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Pops married and raised nine children. He is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, two brothers, and one grandson. He is survived by his sister Helen, his nine children, one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, 16 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchilden. His ashes will be scattered at sea in a Naval Ceremony. 7/24/2006.

Clara Montano Valdez, 78, was born Feburary 14, 1928 in Bard, California. On June 23, 2006, Clara passed on to join her husband, Modesto A. Valdez, son, Modesto M. Valdez, and great grandson, Garrett Muss, in Heaven. Clara resided in Arizona 61 years. Irene G. Valdez, age 85, went to meet her Lord, June 5, 2006. She was born in Yuma, AZ to Pafnuncio & Sara Gordoa. She moved to Phoenix as a young adult where she met Eddy Valdez & was married on Feb. 16, 1946. They were married 54 yrs. & had 5 children. Irene was a lifelong member of the 1st Hispanic Baptist Church for more than 50 yrs. She is survived by a son David Valdez (JoAnn), 3 daughters Linda Tesch (Rodney), Elisabeth Valdez (Andres) & Susan Martinez (Hector), 4 brothers & two sisters. Isabel Silvas Valdez, 73, of El Mirage, Arizona passed away on November 17, 2006. She was the wife of Eliseo M. Valdez for 52 years. He was a member of the 101st Airborne. She met her husband, Gary, in Pinetop, Arizona. They moved to Flagstaff in 1989, and made it their permanent home. Richard (Rick) F. Valletta died on July 14, 2006 after a brave battle with cancer. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam war and received 2 purple hearts and a bronze star. Rick was preceded in death by his son Jimmy in 2005. Rick is survived by Nancy, his children, Gina and Frank; his brother James and his wife Jan, their two children Allison and Emily; and his grandchildren, Vanessa and Luca. Frances Claire Valley, Phoenix, passed away November 8, 2006. Franny joins her mom and dad, Stella and Ray, brothers Dom, Little Ray, Art, and Bill, sisters Therese, Francella, and Phyllis, and grandson Divin. Born November 24, 1938 in Wayne, MI where she was raised by her mom and dad, Stella and Ray Kline. Franny was the youngest of 13 children. In 1961, Franny married George Valley. Freda was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard from 1943 to 1946. She was preceded in death by her mother Lois Van Court; sister, Polly Alexander; brother, Allan Van Court; nephews David and George Alexander; and friend Louise Jacques. Van Den Burg, William A. "Bill"

William A. "Bill" Van Den Burg, 81, of Independence died July 15, 2006. Bill was born in Kansas City, Missouri on June 23, 1925 the son of Antonius P. "Tony" and Elizabeth Louise (Voss) Van Den Burg. He was a graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School. He was a Navy Corpsman and was assigned to the 4th Marine Division of the 23rd Battalion. He served during World War II in the Battles of Roi Namur, Tinian, Saipan and Iwo Jima and was awarded two purple hearts and recommended for the Bronze Star. He lived in Phoenix from 1967 until 1986 when he returned to the Kansas City area. He married Alice Irene Garrett in Olathe, Kansas on September 22, 1945. She survives. He is also survived by four daughters: Alice "Lynn" Yeamans and her husband Ken of Cibilo, Tx., "Mary" Louise Johnson and her husband Harley of Gardner, Ks., Virginia Anne "Jenny" Davis and her husband Jerry of Peebles, Ohio and Lora Jane "Lori" Van Becelaere of Independence, twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Rita Schmidt, a daughter Rita Lorene Van Den Burg who died on February 16, 1960 and a granddaughter Katherine "Kathy" Anne (Yeamans) Rager. Speaks Suburban Chapel made arrangements. Parish Rosary and Mass of Christian Burial were celebrated at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Independence.
