Gallahan were natives of Stafford County Virginia and lived on Truslow Road near
Falmouth in the area at one time called “Terrapin Thicket”. Charles was born May 22, 1860 the son of Charles A. Truslow
and Mary Frances Graves. Hallie was born March 1, 1861 the daughter of James G.
Graves and Mary Ann Bowler. Charles built their home, called “Morning View”, on their
farm on a rise above the intersection of Truslow and Enon roads. The house
still stands. Charles also built and operated the small store, for many years
called Truslow’s Store, at the foot of the rise at the same intersection. Charles served from 1912-1946 as Doorkeeper of the Virginia
House of Delegates. His photo may be found in the photo collages in the hanging
wall panels located in the House of Delegates corridor. Charles was a member of
the Hulls Memorial Baptist Church and the local Masonic Lodge. The bible images are from a bible that was published by the
John A. Dickenson Publishing Company in Chicago, Illinois. It has a 1909
copyright date on it so the entries would have had to been made on or after that
year. Many of the later portions of the Family History section most likely were
recorded by Mary Blanche Truslow, the youngest child of Charles and Hallie
Truslow. Edward W. Truslow – Great Grandson Williamsburg, VA June 2011
