The Humphrey Bible

Information and Photographs Contributed By: Shirley Jacobs Jones, third g-granddaughter of Sanford Humphrey.

    This information is from a family Bible which I believe originally belonged to Sanford and Jane Humphrey. The Bible has significant fire and water damage. Many of the pages are torn and some are missing. I have transcribed what I can make out and what I believe is written.

First Page:

Sandford Humphrey and Jane Prim were married 25 Dec 1832.

William David Humphrey was married to Ann M. Brooks 15 Jun (could be Jan) 1856.

Permelin F. Humphrey was married to David T. Oliver Jun (could be Jan) 6th 1859.

Virginia E. Humphrey was married to William R. Oliver Jun 7th 1859.

Martha N. Humphrey was married to Wesly J. Hefflon Feb 5th 1859.

Precilla Catherine Humphrey was married to RD Embrey April 18th 1867.

Scribbled on the side of this page: Howard was born January the 11, 1881.

Second Page:

David Humphrey son of Sanford and Jane his wife was born September 30th in 1833.

Samuel Humphrey was born, d 13th July 1836.

The page is badly torn but partial names and dates can be read:

Inside on the back cover is written:

E. W. Humphrie was born Feb. the 6, 1872.
