Dated September 2, 1850
Wyatt Bishop to William Bishop

 

I Wyatt Bishop have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to William Bishop and his heirs forever for the consideration of Sixty Five dollars to me paid a tract of land in the State of Virginia, Dinwiddie County containing by estimation thirty eight acres and bounded as follows, by William Bishop on the north, George Rose and Hartwell Wells on the south and on the west Hughty Perkins. To have and to hold the same to the said William Bishop his heirs and assigns forever. I do covenant with the said William Bishop that I am lawfully seized of said land, have a good right to convey it and that the same is unencumbered. I do further covenant and being myself my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land and every part thereof to the said William Bishop his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatsoever this second day of September 1850.

State of Tennessee, To wit:

I Joel L. Jones a Commissioner appointed for the state aforesaid under an [act] of the State of Virginia entitled to act authorizing the appointment of commissioners to take depositions and affidavits, the acknowledgement of deeds and instruments in writing under seal, out of the State of Virginia: do hereby certify that Wyatt Bishop a party to a certain deed bearing date the 2nd day of September A. D. 1850, and hereunto annexed, personally appeared before me in my state aforesaid and acknowledged the same to be his act and deed, and desired me to certify the said acknowledgement to the Clerk of the proper Court in the State of Virginia in order that the said deed may be recorded. Given under my hand and seal this 2nd day of September A.D. 1850.

In the Clerks office of Dinwiddie County Court, September 25th 1850.

This Deed of bargain and sale from Wyatt Bishop to William Bishop, was lodged and with the certificate attached, admitted to record.
