my ggg grandfather, listed in Free Negroe Register on Oct 24 1831. I believe one of the
women below may be his mother but can't prove it. Any help is appreciated.

I am researching these families in Bedford County, VA. In 1763 Elizabeth Gilbert and
Thomas Gash were married in Bedford County, VA. Peter Brooks surety, and Preston
Gilbert a witness. Elizabeth could have been the widow of Jarvis Gilbert. Some how
these families have to be connected to the Brook family, because I have come upon Jarvis
Brook, Gilbert Brook and Preston Brook. Please, if you know anything please

Looking for info that may connect Samuel Vest or Vess that was b. around 1780 and
arrived in Rockbridge Co. by 1810. Suspect parents may have lived in Bedford Co. Is there any one
that has copied early Bedford court records and Wills? Willing to share all data. Thanks in
