and also two brothers and sister-in-law Cleston Dalton and Clemance and
Elva Dalton. She is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law Rheda and Authur Lee Wheeler
and Ivalene and Tom Spangler all of Narrows, VA;
brother Convern Dalton of Wytheville, VA; six
nieces and nephews; and other family members. Funeral services will be held
on Monday, March 7, 2011 at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady
Chapel at 3:00 PM with Pastor Dustin Montgomery officiating. Burial will
follow in the Cox Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral
service at the funeral home. The family would like to express their thanks to Wheatland Hills Retirement in Hillsville
and Mountain Valley Hospice and the caring and supportive staff of each. Zesta prayed for many years to be reunited with her

Wade, 72, died Sunday at his 4th and Pendleton St. home. No official report
was available from the city medical examiner, however police said it appeared
to be suicide. An investigation continues, according to Chief William Lorton.
Surviving are his wife, Rosa T. Wade; four daughters, Mrs. Betty Turman, Mrs.
Jean Hill, Willis, Mrs. Polly Bishop, Christiansburg, Mrs. Tobble Swain, Salem; a son, L.B. Wade, Radford; six
brothers, Draphus Wade, Cambridge, KS, Thurman
Wade, San Lorenzo, CA, Wyatt Wade, Indian Valley, Burlie
Wade, Danville, Raleigh Wade, Cline Wade, Willis; 9 grandchildren and 3
great grandchildren. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at DeVilblss Funeral Chapel with burial in Pentecostal

12 grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews. Funeral services were held

1907 Glenn Street, Danville, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at her residence.
Born February 23, 1920 in Danville, she was the daughter of the late Charlie
P. Scott and Kate Marshall Scott. She lived most of her life in Danville
where she worked for over 30 years in sales at Belk-Leggett. Mrs. Wade was a
member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church and the Belk-Leggett Friendship
Club. Her husband, Burlie Wade, predeceased her in
2006. She loved her family very much. Survivors include one son: Ray Edward
Wade and his wife Judy of Rustburg, VA; one daughter: Sandra Wade Turner of
the home; one brother: Charles P. Scott, Jr. and his wife Louise of Danville;
one sister: Gerry England Harris and her husband Bob of Chatham; four
grandchildren: Brian Turner of Danville, Christy Turner of Danville, Clark
Wade and his wife Margaret Hunter of Roanoke, Meredith Stewart and her
husband James of Baltimore, MD; five great-grandchildren: Katie Turner,
Finley Stewart, Archie Stewart, Spencer Wade, Stafford Wade; three very
special caregivers: Danyelle McLaughlin, Janice Abbott, Orpha Lockhart.
Funeral services officiated by Pastor Valerie White will be held Friday, July
20, 2012 at 2 p.m. in the Swicegood Funeral Home
Chapel. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will
receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Friday. At
other times, they will be at the home, 1907 Glenn Street. In lieu of flowers,
the family respectfully requests that donations be made to St. Luke's United

1931 where she was active in working with children and young people in her
younger years and loved participating in activities with the Senior Adults
into her nineties. She was an accomplished seamstress, sewing for her family
and many ladies of the community in her younger years. Graveside Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on
Saturday, September 10, 2011, at Sherwood Memorial Park led by the Rev. John
Fox and the Rev. Douglas Pedigo. In lieu of
flowers, it was her request that donations be made to Belmont Baptist Church,
825 Stewart Avenue, SE, Roanoke, VA 24013. The family will receive friends
from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2011, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. 2011

VA, went to be with his Lord Thursday, December 10, 2009. He was the son of
Benjamin F. and Minnie B. Wade who were formerly of Floyd County. Charlie was
a Veteran of World War II. He was a former employee of the American Viscose
and a retired building contractor. His love for his family was expressed
through his love of building and remarkable ability to work hard and long
hours. He was a former member of First Christian Church in Vinton where he
served as Sunday school superintendent, chairman of the board, deacon, and
elder for 50 years. Currently he is a deacon emeritus at Red Hill Baptist
Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Wade; and sisters, Eula
Myers and Ethelyene Kanode.
Survivors are wife of 72 years, Dolly Bowers Wade; daughter and son-in-law,
Rita and Ronald Leiser, Vinton; grandson, Charles
H. Leiser, Vinton, and his beloved grand dog, Lexi;
and sisters, Edith W. Dillard, Vinton, Vera W. Parfitt, Roanoke; and several
nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends as he
continues to build with his Lord. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m.
Monday, December 14, 2009, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with the Rev. James
Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The
family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday ,
