DANGERFIELD, LENA EANES, 82, of Christiansburg, passed away Monday, October 20,2003. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Pearl Maxey Eanes; husband, James T. Dangerfield; sister, Ruby Willis; brothers, Oliver, Fred and Lynn Eanes. She retired from the Radford Arsenal. She was known for her sense of humor, enjoyment of good gospel music, and her devotion to and love for her family. She, in turn, was loved and cherished dearly. Survivors include her sister, Hazel Eanes Callahan of Salem; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Bill DeHart of Christiansburg, Judy and Roger Eubanks of Jacksons Gap, Ala.; son and daughter-in-law, James R. and Vicki Dangerfield of Riner; grandchildren, Darin, Brandon, Kristen, Lisa, Jennifer, Austin and Kerri. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 23 r d at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Belisle officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. MRS. OLIVE AKERS
Mrs. Olive H. Akers, 74, of 1919 Fletcher St., was stricken at her home Saturday evening and died at St. John's Hospital at 8:45 p.m.
A resident here for 30 years, she was born Aug. 30, 1891, in Christiansburg, Va., to Leonard and Lura Daingerfield. Her husband, Ernest L. Akers, to whom she was wed in 1910 in Roanoke, Va., died in 1955. Mrs. Akers attended Christ Lutheran Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ilene Michaels, of Polo, Mo.; two sons, Raymond E. Akers and Billy W. Akers of Anderson; two sisters, Mrs. Nell Epperly and Mrs. Elizabeth Hensley, both of Christiansburg, Va.; three brothers, Harry Daingerfield of Redford, Va., Ed Daingerfield of Harrisburg, Pa., and Tex Daingerfield of Va.; 14 grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren.
A son, Lynn Akers died here July 2. 
The body was taken to the Harold E. Rozelle Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 o'clock Monday afternoon.
Funeral rites will be conducted at the mortuary at 2 p.m., Tuesday by the Rev. Lester Ringham the Central Christian Church. Burial will take place in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Doris Marie Humphrey, 87, of Beckley died Monday, Nov. 17, 2003, at Faston, Md.
_Born Sept. 3, 1916, in Floyd County, Va., she was the daughter of Stafford Dangerfield and Mary Aldredge Dangerfield.
_Mrs. Humphrey was a graduate of Pax High School, Morris Harvey College and received her master's degree from Marshall University. She retired after 24 years teaching in the Marsh Fork District, Raleigh County, to take care of her ailing mother, Mary Ellen Lively.
_She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard W. Humphrey, on June 19, 1978; and granddaughter, Kristin B. Humphrey, on May 3, 1976.
_Survivors include a son, Bernard W. Humphrey Jr. and daughter-in-law, Peggy K. Humphrey of St. Michaels, Md.; granddaughter, Kimberly B. Pyne and husband, Patrick Pyne of Medford Lakes, N.J.; grandson, Brian D. Humphrey of Arlington, Va.; great-grandson, P. Bryce Pyne; and great-granddaughter, Emma Alyse Pyne.
_Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mount Calvary Southern Baptist Church, 1166 Dry Hill Road, Beckley, with the Rev. Bobby E. Price officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call one hour prior to the services. Memorial offerings may be made to the Mount Calvary Southern Baptist Church or to the National Reye's Syndrome Foundation, Bryan, Ohio. Arrangements by Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope.
