Mrs Lee Lawrence
Otey, July 9 - The body of Mrs. Lee Lawrence, who died at Matoaka, WV from the effects of an anesthesia administered for the purpose of having her tonsils removed, was brought here for burial. Interment took place in the Piedmont Graveyard last Saturday. Mrs. [Fitzhugh Lee Lawrence] Lawrence prior to her marriage in 1908 was Miss Myrtle [Ray] Jewell second daughter of Mr. & Mrs. F. J. Jewell* of this place. She was born in Montgomery County March 21, 1890 being 30 years 3 months and 10 days of age.

She is survived by her husband and four children, Ryan aged 11 years, Emory age 9 years, Burma age 7 years, and Lang age 6 years, besides her mother and father*, four sisters and one brother, namely Mrs. Thomas [Amber] Spangler of Nace, VA; Mrs. Robert [Ora] Sisson, Mrs. Ralph [Hazel] Shank, Mrs. Willard [Bertha] Custer, and Teddy [Theodore Roosevelt ] Jewell of this place.

A beautiful short service was conducted at the grave by K. O. Lawrence of Mayberry, W Va.

Mrs. Lawrence united with the Methodist Episcopal Church in Early life and was a woman of rare Christian character.
