He was a Private in Captain Squire Grant's County, Kentucky Mounted Volunteer Militia, commanded by Colonel William Mountjoy
James Kenney Jr. died at Fort Defiance on January 30, 1829. Is there any cemetery on or near the old Fort or death records that early in this area?

Seeking information about my great-grandfather, John KIESSLING. He was born in Germany in 1871, died in Defiance, Ohio in 1960, and is buried near Marshall, Michigan. According to his obituary he came to the United States in 1888 and made his home with the Nicholas BOEHM family near Defiance.
Also according to his obituary, his parents' names were John and Elizabeth BOEHM KIESSLING.
His naturalization papers were granted in Defiance County in 1892. He later moved to Michigan with his wife, Augusta PRACHT, and spent most of his life there. He later returned to Defiance after Augusta died in 1940.
I would appreciate any information about these family names. Thank you!

His naturalization papers were granted in Defiance County in 1892. He later moved to Michigan with his wife, Augusta PRACHT, and spent most of his life there. He later returned to Defiance after Augusta died in 1940.

I am Looking for info on the Charles Gardner CHASE family. I believe they lived in Adams township and in Evansport, Ohio. I don't know which township Evansport is in. Charles' wife was Charlotte FELTON, daughter of John M. FELTON. They had the following children that I know of: Anne, Sarah, Harriet, Addie and Rueben. They may have had a son Fredrick. I know this was m2 for Samantha. Samantha Rose b 1822 NY was m1 to Enoch HASKINS on 28 July 1841. They settled near Hicksville, Defiance Co. ca 1844, coming from NY. Enoch died in 1891. Samantha was 73 years of age at the time of this marriage to Joseph Hively & I suspect Joseph HIVELY was also about that age.
