VANDIKE/VAN DYKE:
Searching for the ancestry of my 4th great-grandfather, William VANDIKE/VAN DYKE who appeared in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, in the 1770's, seemingly alone. In 1780 he married Anna Barbara MOYER/MEYER and had a large family of children. He was probably born between 1745 and 1755 in Mercer County, New Jersey. In 1800 he moved to Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, where he died in 1806. Three VAN DYKE brothers were said to have lived in the Trenton area of Mercer County. James VAN DYKE later settled in Washington County, PA. John VAN DYKE moved to Turbit Twp, Northumberland County, PA, and later to Bradford County, PA. And there was a third brother William who we think may be our ancestor who moved to Westmoreland County, PA. Do you have information on these three brothers -John, James and William VAN DYKE = or of any VAN DYKE who lived in Mercer County? Thanks!
