I'm looking for info on James Madison HALL married to Rosetta (?) LARGEN. They both were from Carroll Co. VA. One of their sons is my wife's grandfather (Barney Velt HALL). I'd appreciate any info that someone out there may have on either of these families.

I'm trying to determine who my great grandmother was. I believe she might have been a Dalton, probably born in the 1860s in Carroll County Virginia, perhaps named Evelyn, Evaline, or Tabitha Evelyn. She may have been the granddaughter of Martin Dalton and Keziah Hill Dalton. She would have eventually married General Grant Montgomery, born in 1863, also born in Carroll County. Thanks,

I am searching for a James Lewis Henderson who married Sarah Elizabeth Henderson on June 14, 1865 in Granville Co NC. I hope that his father was James who was listed on the 1870 Census in the Fancy Gap District. James was listed as age 63 and Diahan as age 45. There is a Delilah Henderson age 55 next door who could be James' aunt. These ages would be consistent with being the parents of James Lewis Henderson. I'm looking for information regarding Civil War service and parents of my great-great-grandfather Uriah Surratt, who is listed among the Carroll County Confederate pensioners of 1908. I believe Uriah was the son of Patrick and Lucretia (or Lucinda) Surratt. Many of Uriah Surratt's descendants still live in Carroll County.

Va. 1846, bur. in the Northend Cemetery, possible parent is said to be Jesse Cox. Has anyone information on where to search. I have read many Carroll Co. Va. vital records and census.
