HYLTON, Asa. New Castle. Asa Hylton, 77, a resident of New Castle for seven years, died at 6 AM, Friday in the Valley View Hospital following a long illness. Mr. Hylton was born March 4, 1887, at Floyd, VA., and was a graduate of New Rockford High in North Dakota and Phillips University. He married Veree Nicholson on January 14, 1917 at Hobbart,
Oklahoma. Mr. Hylton was a retired manager for the United Lumber Co. and was a Carbondale resident before moving to New Castle. Survivors include his wife; two sisters, Mrs. R. L. Page of Morton, Tex., and Mrs. John Rickerd, Chowchilla, Calif. and a brother, Picie Hylton, Arkansas City, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday at Farnum Chapel in Glenwood Spgs. The Rev. Walter K. Klein will officiate. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery in New Castle

Elza Noah Hilton, 75, resident of Centralia 34 years, passed away Thursday evening at his home, 1023 E. street. Surviving are five children. Walter D. Hilton, Seattle; Dorse, Centralia; Mrs. Ida Mae Crawford, Oregon City; Mrs. Lena Carpenter, Tacoma, and Mrs. Lillie Beasley, Wytheville, Va,; four brothers, Joe and Ed, Moscow, Ida.; Jerry, Floyd, Va., and Steve, Lacey; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The body is at the Newell-Hoerling mortuary, where funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. Earl Van Doren will officiate, and burial will be at Mountain View.

Alpha Weeks Hylton, 93, of Floyd, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Skyline Manor Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Hylton and an infant daughter. Survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Reva Weeks of Salem, Marvie and Ovada Weeks of Floyd; special friends, Ray and Linda Turpin of Floyd; special nephews, Bob Conner, Bill Conner, Donald Conner, James Weeks, Roger Weeks. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2006 at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd, with the Rev. Roy Turpin officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Maberry Funeral Home.

Ival Theodore Hylton died Jan. 4, 2004, at his home in Auburn. He was 81.

Born Oct. 28, 1922, in Etna, Neb., he served in the Navy during World War II and married Shirley Ann Nicks on Feb. 16, 1947, in Auburn. He lived in Auburn for 38 years.

Mr. Hylton retired in 1984 as a bus driver at Metro Transit Co. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Hylton of Auburn; sons, David Hylton of Bonney Lake and Dana Hylton of Covington; and brother, Wayne Hylton of Kalama.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Yahn & Son Funeral Home in Auburn. Inurnment will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Tahoma National Cemetery in Maple Valley.

Memorials may be made to the Auburn fire or police departments.

Wayne Clifford Hylton passed away Jan. 10, 2016, at home, at the age of 85.

He was born Jan. 17, 1930, in Arnold, Neb., to Otho C. and Lula (Weeks) Hylton.

Wayne married Frances Kolesnick in Centralia in 1954. Wayne and Fran had three sons, Kelly, Curtis and Tracy. The family moved to Kalama in 1962.

Wayne owned and operated a Shell and Texaco Service Station and a towing business. When his sons were out of school, Wayne changed careers and began driving log trucks and doing long haul jobs. He most recently worked for Heavy Hauling who he really enjoyed working with.

Wayne's favorite pastimes were watching movies and taking trips with Fran in their RV, especially to the coast.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Fran at home; a sister-in-law, Shirley Hylton; three sons, Kelly, Curtis (Shellie) and Tracy (Cherise), all in Kalama; seven grandchildren, Tyler (Katie), Jeremy (Acacia), Alicia, JD, Haley, Melania and Austin; and four great-grandchildren, Colby, Ayden, Logan and most recently, Wesley.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Lula Hylton; and a brother, Ival Hylton.

A service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kalama Fire Department or the Community Home Health & Hospice.

Arrangements are by Columbia Funeral Service.

Ruby Mae Deschamp of Bonners Ferry, 89, a longtime Harvard, Idaho, homemaker, died Monday of causes related to age at Community Hospital Extended Care Facility here.

She was born Feb. 15, 1907, in Floyd County, Va., to Norman Edward and Jenny Lynn Hylton. When she was 4 years old they moved by train to Troy, Idaho. She attended schools at Troy and later Moscow.

They lived and farmed on what is now known as Mountain View Road. After she finished school she became a housekeeper for several years.

In 1925 she married Paul Marcy at Moscow. They lived in the Highland Flats area near Naples, Idaho, for several years.

After their separation, she returned to Moscow and housekeeping. She then worked as a flunky for a logging camp for Potlatch Corp.

She met and married Claire Isaac Deschamp July 4, 1942, at Priest River, Idaho.

They lived at Harvard together until he died in 1976. She later moved to Moscow and Bonners Ferry.

She was an avid quilter and was known for her cooking. She enjoyed playing pinochle and music.

Survivors include two daughters, Bettie Marcy Preston of Bonners Ferry and Lynette Deschamp Byers of Plummer, Idaho; one son, Douglas Deschamp of Moscow; one sister, Pauline Greenwood of Spokane; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

One son, Harold Marcy, and seven siblings died previously.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the community hall at Harvard. Burial will be at Potlatch Cemetery.
