Albert Wade, age 72, of Graysontown died last night at his home. 

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Beulah Wade Walker, of Florida; two sons. Homer Wade Graysontown, and Bill Wade of War, W. Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Charles E. Dudley, Radford, Mrs W. E. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Radford, the Radford Womans Club, and a former Treasurer of the Radford Business and Professional Womens Club. She was a member of the Republican Party and was also a former church organist at the Tyler Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Old Brick Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 21, 2001 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel with the Rev. O. Wendel Manuel and the Rev. Amy Lehr officiating. Interment will follow in Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Old Brick Presbyterian Church, 406 East Rock Road, Radford, Va. 24141. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, December 20, 2001 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford.

Carrie W. Phillips, 85, a retired aircraft instrument mechanic, died June 21, 1992, in a hospital. 

Mrs. Phillips was born in Floyd County. She had retired from the Norfolk Naval Air Station after 30 years. She was the widow of John E. Phillips and was a member of Christian Church Uniting. 

Survivors include two daughters, Verna P. Fruits of Virginia Beach and Lois P. Hawks of Norfolk; two sons, Calvin C. Phillips of San Clemente, Calif. and Ronald W. Phillips of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Ola Cox of Collinsville, Velma Reed of Alum Ridge, Essie Ratcliffe of Radford and India Goad of Pearisburg; 16 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. 

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Christian Church Uniting by the Rev. Lucinda Barnum-Steggerda. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. 

Memorial donations may be made to the church or to the Arthritis Foundation.

Clyde Hollandsworth Wade, 87, of 1110 Marshall Road, widow of Denver C. Wade, died Friday, March 10, 2006 at Wesley Commons.

Born in Willis, Va., she was a daughter of the late John Clayton and Amanda Hollandsworth Snider. She was retired from Greenwood Mills Plant No. 5 and a member of Harris United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Daisy Harris Sunday School Class.

Survivors include a daughter, Bonnie W. Henderson of Abbeville; two sons, Bobby "Bob" L. Wade and Jim "Jimmy" A. Wade, both of Greenwood; a sister, Versie Phillips of Hillsville, Va.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Services are 11 a.m. Monday at Harley Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Robbie Burton. Burial is in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Wade Bowie, Jimmy Owen, Chris Wade, Mike Maffett, John Scott Jr., J.S. Mitchell, Noel Mitchell and Vernon Burke.

Goad, India Alma Wade, 86, of Pearisburg, died Wednesday, January 28, 2004 following a long illness. Mrs. Goad was born in Floyd County, Va on July 2, 1917 and was a daughter of the late Charlie and Leona Dulaney Wade. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Carrie Phillips, Ola Cox and Velma Reed; one brother, Denver Wade. Mrs. Goad was a member of the Faith Temple Pentecostal Church of Pearisburg. She is survived by her husband, Elmer Leon Goad of Pearisburg; one son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Jackie Goad of Hillsville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Irene and Ronald Barney of Advance, NC, Carol and Jerry Caldwell of Christiansburg, Bessie and Howard McCormick of Advance, NC; one sister, Essie Wade Ratcliffe of Radford; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 30, 2004 at 2 p.m. in the Faith Temple Pentecostal Church with Pastor Jeff Rhea officiating with interment in Birchlawn Burial Park.
