She was born January 20, 1933. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Nellie Ferris; her husband, Joseph Erby Hall, Jr.; and a brother, Carlton Lee Ferris. Surviving are her children, Linda Hall Jenkins and her husband, Gene, Richard Hall and his friend, Katherine Hamilton, Tammy Hall Miller; three grandchildren, Jason Jenkins, Angela Jenkins and Brittney Miller; special friends, Kathy Bordewisch and Robert Jenkins. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. William Fintel, the Oncology staff, Radiation department, and the 6th floor nurses and techs at Lewis-Gale Hospital for their loving care. Mrs. Conner was a charter member of Colonial Avenue Baptist Church, where she was one of the original organizers for the church semiannual yard sale, which supported church outreach missions. She was affectionately known to many as the "Garage Sale Goddess". She and her husband owned and operated a general merchandise store on Colonial Avenue and also, Wakefield Inn. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shelby Jean and Fred Mowles, Roanoke, VA., a son and daughter-in-law, Robert (Bob) & Louise Conner, Vinton, VA., her grandchildren, David L. Mowles and wife, Linda, Star City, Ark. Donald R. Mowles and wife, Cathy, Roanoke, VA., Douglas W. Mowles and wife, Karen, Salem, VA., Dannette Reedy and husband, Tim, Roanoke, VA., Cari C. Floyd and husband, Craig, Roanoke, VA., Christi C. Whitely and husband, Simon, Barnardsville, NC., Cathryn (Katie) Beasley, Virginia Beach, VA., twelve great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, many special nieces, nephews and her church family.
