Velna Opal Lange, 85, Klamath Falls, died Oct. 23, 1999, in Portland.

She was born in Virginia to Henry and Mary (Booth) Delaney. 

She moved with her family to Klamath Falls in 1926 and attended Mills Elementary School and Klamath Union High School.

In 1932, she married Carl Lange.

They moved to Lakeview in 1938.

She was involved in raising her family, all activities of her children, the Parent-Teacher Association and the First Baptist Church.

She moved in 1959 to Portland, where she was a house mother at Western Baptist Theological Seminary until moving back to Lakeview in 1961.

In 1963, she returned to Portland and was a house mother at Emanuel Hospital School of Nursing until retiring in 1972.

Her days then were filled caring for her grandchildren and making numerous trips to visit friends and family members in California, Oregon and Washington.

Mrs. Delaney moved to Klamath Falls in 1982.

Survivors include her sister, Lorene Blanchard of Renton, WA; son, Dale Lange of Portland; daughter, Carla Yancey of Klamath Falls; daughter-in-law, Marie Giffey of Milwaukie; grandchildren Andrew Lange, Deana Mulder and Kerrie Lange of Milwaukie, Monty Yancey of Klamath Falls, Robert Yancey of Portland, Katie Wardle of Gresham and Gregory Lange of Vancouver, WA; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Dean Lage, sisters, Loicel Stacker and Nellie Dickinson, and her brother, Madison Delaney.

Nellie was one of 4 daughters of Henry and Mary Booth Delancy. Her family had moved to Klamath, Oregon by the time she was 14 years old. There she met and married her husband Roy on July 15, 1939. They settled in Lakeview, Oregon, where she was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Firettes. They had 2 sons and 2 daughters. 

After over 30 years there, they moved to Anaheim, California in 1968. Roy died there several years later, and in 1983, Nellie moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, to be with her daughter. She died there at the age of 68. She was taken back to Lakeview, Oregon, where she is buried near her husband and their daughter Jeanette.

I must have had the best in-laws in the world.. my father in law Albert Dulaney was like no other man I ever knew.. lived the simple life... satisfied with meager food like cornbread and beans or a glass of milk, although he could have had the more expensive food but did not want it.. he loved chinquapins and always picked a pocket full.. he had read the Bible through twice and remembered a lot of passages from it.. Billy Boyd once wrote a poem about Albert entitled "Gods Millionaire"... never heard a curse word from him ever... if he wanted to stress something he led off with "By Ned" or "Gentlemen".. he helped us with a gift of money when we first bought a house and were struggling financially.. he told me when he was baptized by Wallace Akers that the small creek (Lost Bent Creek) had to be dammed up to make it deep enough for him to be baptized.. he kept his mother at his home and cared for her all her life.. he had one of the first cars sold in Floyd Co, and would take Dr. Roley Akers to house visits, as Roley rode horseback.. he drove that old Star automobile all the way to Klamath Falls, Oregon and back, and said almost all the roads were dirt then.. they camped out beside the road and cooked their meals that way.. played baseball as a young man and was the pitcher.. their team was 22-0 one year.. worked in wood all his life at sawmills or at Central Lumber Co, in Radford.. died at age 87 but his wife Etta Mae lived to be 98.. both buried in White Rock Cemetery where my wife is buried, and I will be also....

Willard Kesley Dulaney, 91, of Floyd, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011. 

Born and raised in Floyd County to the late Albert Madison and Etta Mae Thompson Dulaney where he resided until his death. 

He was a veteran of World War II and served during the Normandy invasion and served in France and Germany. 

Willard is a member of the Floyd VFW Post #7854. Predeceased by his wife, Irene Dulaney. 

Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Barry Dunlap; sister and brother-in- law, Geneva and Paul Collins; special friend, Catherine (Jean) Moran; sister-in-law, Betty Nave; grandchildren, Laurie Tyrie, Charles Dunlap, Cynthia Azavedo; great- grandchildren, Lance, Bryan, Ashley, Caleb, Naomi; and nephews and nieces, Garry, Barry, Danny Collins, Brenda Cook and Cathy Burnette.

Geneva Aldeen Collins, 82 of Floyd, passed away at her home peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, December 23, 2012. 

She was born on September 4, 1930 in Floyd County to Albert and Etta Mae Dulaney. 

She was a member of Riner Grace Brethren Church She was preceded in death by her brother, Willard K. Dulaney. 

Survivors are her husband of 63 years, Paul S. Collins, and five children, Brenda Mae Cook (Bill), Garry Madison Collins (Donna), Barry Sheridan Collins, Cathy Lynn Burnette (Terry), and Danny Ray Collins (Donna) all of Floyd. 

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Tony Cook, Kevin Cook, Bradley Quesenberry, Ginny Sculla, Ashley Collins, and Haley Collins; one niece, Connie Dunlap of Duxbury, MA, and 
five great-grandchildren, a special friend, Mildred Smith. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Roy Turpin officiating. Interment will follow at White Rock Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Gardner Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Floyd County Rescue Squad. The family wishes to thank Carilion Hospice and also Carilion Home Health Nurses for their services. Condolences to the family may be made at www.gardnerfuneralhome.com.
