MADDOX, MORRIS RAY
Morris Ray Maddox, 81, of Bay City died August 9, 2003 at the Lake
Jackson Healthcare Center in Lake Jackson, TX. He was born November 19,
1921 in North Zulch, TX to the late Daniel Lee and Irene Marsh Maddox.
Mr. Maddox was a member of the Pentecostal Church and a longtime
resident of Bay City. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the U S Navy,
and in 1982 he retired as a pumper from the Lower Colorado River
Authority with 35 years of service.
Survivors include: 1 son and daughter-in-law: Dennis C. and Ora Maddox
of Bay City; sisters: Jean Fitzgerald of Piggott, AK, Elsie Eilbeck, and
Ann Genzer both of Bay City; brother: Herman "Henry" Maddox of
Vilonia, AK; 4 grandchildren: Michelle Chaskey & husband James of
Angleton, Regina Maddox of Bay City, Rhonda Mavity & husband Ryan of
Weatherford, OK, and Lyndsay Maddox of Manvel, TX; 3 great
grandchildren: Christopher & Jennifer Quick of Weatherford, OK, and
Caleb Ray Maddox of Bay City. He was preceded in death by his wife
Kathleen Maddox; sister: Lillian Jenkins; and brother: Aaron Maddox.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, August 14, 2003 at Taylor
Bros. Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Hardaway officiating. Interment with
Military Honors will be at the Palacios Cemetery, Palacios, TX.
Pallbearers will be Bobby & Danny Lister, Billy & Clifford

JOHN M. MAGEE SR.
BAY CITY [Matagorda County, Texas] -
John M. Magee, Sr., 79, of Bay City
passed away on March 29, 2007. He was
born April 3, 1927 in Kosse, to Elbert
Roy and Julia Adams Magee. He served in
the U.S. Air Force during WWII. He was a
member of the Bay City Lodge No. 865
Scottish Rite Arabia Shrine and a member
of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret L.
Magee of Bay City; son, John Magee Jr.
and wife Cindy of Lake Jackson;
daughter, Judy K. Hilton and husband
Jack of Houston; four grandchildren,
Cory and Luke Magee of Lake Jackson and
Chris and Brittany Hilton of Houston.

William Louis Malek departed this life June 4, 2006.
He was born December 29, 1925 in Yoakum, Texas to Edmund and Mary Maresh
Malek.
He retired in 1988 as foreman of Channel Industries Gas/Tenneco after
over 40 years in the Oilfield Business. He served in WWII as Army Staff
Sergeant where he was awarded Army of Occupation Medal and WWII Victory
Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and European African Middle Eastern Campaign
Medal.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife of 39 years, Delores
Stelzel Malek of Bay City; daughter, Monica Chumchal and husband Kenneth
of El Campo; son, James Malek and fiancee Kay Kurtz of East Bernard;
five grandchildren, Cody William Chumchal, Paige Danielle Chumchal,
Justin William Malek, Tyler Jacob Kurtz, Emily Faith Kurtz.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; five sisters, Mary Janis,
Albina Vahalik, Toni Morris, Alma Holy, Lillian Bilicek; and two
brothers Edwin and Frank Malek.
A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2006 at Taylor Bros.
Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Holy
Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. Gerry Cernoch officiating.
Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City.

David Perez Martinez, Sr., 83, of Bay City died April 20, 2002 at
Matagorda General Hospital in Bay City. He was bom March 20, 1919 in
Bay City to the late Joaquin Vega and Tomasa Perez Martinez. Mr.
Martinez was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and a
life long resident of Bay City. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force
during WWII in the 493rd Bombardment Squadron.
Survivors include: sons, David Martinez and Rudy Martinez both of
Lubbock; sister, Elvira Sanchez of Bay City; seven grandchildren; 13
great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; numerous nieces
and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Irene Morales
Martinez; sisters; Estefana Bustos and Ygocencia Ruiz; and brothers,
Marcelino Martinez and Charles Martinez, Sr.
Rosary was 6 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2002 at Taylor Bros. Funeral
Home, and the Funeral Mass was 10 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2002 at Our
Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Edward Boren

Joaquin Gutierrez Martinez, 79, of Bay City, passed away Tuesday,
January 17, 2006.
He was born November 28, 1926, in Bay City, to Marcelino Perez Martinez
and Petra Gutierrez Martinez.
He was a lifelong resident of Bay City, a member of Our Lady of
Guadalupe Catholic Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by: his wife, Victoria Camarillo Martinez of Bay City;
daughters, Petra Campos of Gonzales, Rosemary Martinez, Pauline
Martinez, Tomasa Perez, Mary Jane Montalvo and Alice Guzman, all of Bay
City; sons, Gonzalo Martinez, David Martinez and Patricio Martinez, all
of Bay City, Joaquin Martinez of Rockport, and Jerry Martinez of Alvin;
an adopted sister, Elida Flores of Bay City; an adopted brother, Javier
Martinez of Bay City; and by 32 grandchildren and 24
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Marcelino P. and Petra G.
Martinez; a son, Marcelino Martinez; and a sister, Mary Lou Montague.
The rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2006, at Taylor
Bros. Chapel. The funeral mass was at 2 p.m. Friday, January 20, 2006,
at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City with military
honors provided by the Philip H. Parker VFW Post No. 2438.

MARTINO, JOHN OTTINO
PALACIOS -- John Ottino Martino, 80, of Palacios [Matagorda County,
Texas], died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2001.
He was born March 11, 1921, in Palacios, to the late Louis and Donnie
Ottino Martino. He was a retired commercial fisherman and a member of
St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Palacios. He was a U.S. Army veteran
serving in World War II.
Survivors: daughters, Dolores Castro of Richmond and Rosalie Lenihan of
Floresville; sisters, Rosalie Tobias of Palacios and Julie Garcia of
Victoria; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: wife, Mary Diaz Martino; son, John Martino Jr.;
parents; sister, Pauline Pequeno; and brothers, Louis Martino Jr., Tom
Martino and Charles Martino.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Palacios Funeral Home

Sam J. Mathis, Jr., 81 of Bay City died Wednesday January 30, 2002 in
Wharton, Texas. He was born February 2, 1920 in Lexington, Texas, to the
late Sam J. Mathis Sr. and Ethel Douglas.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, and honorary member of
the Knights of Columbus Council No 3070, a veteran of the U. S. Army
serving in WWII where he received two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.
He retired from Santa Fe Rail Road with 40 years of service. He was a
Little League coach and umpired for many years. He was an avid fisherman
and hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Josephine Mathis of Bay City,
daughter and son-in-law Jeanne and Terry Osborne of West Columbia; son,
Gary Mathis of Bay City; three grandchildren; Todd and Trent Mathis and
Darrell Osborne. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Nina
Minick and Audrey Owens; brothers, Frank Mathis and James Mathis.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Saturday February 2 at Taylor
Brothers Funeral Home. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Sunday February 3 at Holy
Cross Catholic Church with Rev. Casey Jarzombek officiating. Interment
will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

FRANK E. MATTHES JR.
BAY CITY [Matagorda County, Texas] - Frank Edward Matthes Jr., 84, of
Bay City, passed away March 22, 2007. He was born Aug. 10, 1922, in
Slaton, to Frank E. Matthes Sr. and Tommye Thomas Matthes.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who was
greatly loved by his family. He was a deeply devoted Christian who
expressed his beliefs by service to others.
Frank served his country during WWII as an anti-aircraft gunner in the
Pacific Theater. When Frank returned home to Blessing he soon met and
married Phern Rhea. They were constant companions and best friends for
more than 56 years.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a life member of
VFW Post 2438.
He is survived by his wife, Ida Phern Matthes of Bay City; daughters and
sons-in-law, Fay and Syd Gilzow of Bay City and Velma and Jerry Greer of
Montgomery; son, Charles Matthes of San Marcos; sister, and
brother-in-law, Betty and Ross Thornton of Timpson; brother-in-law, Bill
King and wife Nadine of California; nine grandchildren, Timothy, Bethany
and Sarah Matthes, Jessica Gabrien, Gydeon, and Georgia Gilzow, and Marc
and Lori Greer; and by four great-grandchildren, Isbella, Audrey, Olivia
and Zoey Gilzow.

Charles Eugene Matthews, 61, of Bay City, passed away, Wednesday,
February 13, 2002 in Houston, Texas. He was born October 17, 1940 in Bay
City to Sylvain Alexander "Jack" Matthews and Madelyn Lee
Lipscomb Matthews.
He was a lifelong resident of Bay CIty, a member of the First Baptist
Church, and was a US Army veteran.
He is survived by: wife, Betty Sue Johnson Matthews of Bay CIty; mother,
Madelyn Lipscomb Matthews of Bay City; daughters, Sherri Lynn Harvey and
husband Jay of Goliad, Jerri Lyn Machacek and husband Daniel of Goliad,
Patti Eileen Strelec and husband Willie, Jr. of Edna; stepdaughter,
Yvonne Bartz and husband Phillip of Grand Forks, North Dakota; sister,
Bonnie Socha of Bay CIty; brothers, Jack Alexander Matthews and Robert
Matthews of Bay City; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by
his father, Sylvain Alexander "Jack" Matthews.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2002 at
Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Oliver Southall
officiating. Interment followed at Matthews Family Cemetery in Bay City.

MATTHEWS, JOHN
Mr. John Matthews one of Matagorda county's oldest and most highly
respected citizens died at his home at Caney at 9:17 o'clock a.m.
Wednesday December 10th, and was buried in the Caney cemetery on
Thursday afternoon December 11th, with religious services conducted by
M. H. Reed.
Deceased was born in Hillsboro, London County, Virginia, February 23,
1835 and was, therefore, 78 years, 9 months and 17 days of age when
death occurred.
In 1855 Mr. Matthews came to Matagorda county and began merchandising at
Caney continuing in business and residing in the same place since that
time. He has been very prosperous all of his life and was numbered
amongst the most prominent of the citizens of the Gulf Coast of Texas.
"Matthews Store," as his place has been known for generations,
is one of the historic spots of historic Matagorda and for years was the
leading business house of the country.
Mr. Matthews was loved and honored by all who knew him, took a prominent
part in the upbuilding and advancement of his county and country, was an
honored Confederate veteran, a pioneer and was a man of honor and
sincere integrity.
Besides his wife, who is ten years his junior, Mr. Matthews leaves five
living children. They are Mrs. Amanda Bates of Caney, Judge Jesse
Matthews of Glen Flora, and former county judge of that county, R. V.
Matthews of Caney, Mrs. Mary Lawson of Matagorda and W. A. Matthews of
Caney.
The Tribune joins the hundreds of friends in this county and section of
the state in extending to the family the deepest and most sincere
sympathy.

ELI C. MAYFIELD
Oct. 13, 1918 - June 25, 2006
Eli C. Mayfield, 87 of Palacios, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2006.
He was born October 13, 1918 in Shongaloo, Louisiana to the late James
T. Mayfield and Rosa McEachern Mayfield.
Eli Mayfield came to Palacios in 1941 when he was stationed at Camp
Hulen. He met Wanda Fields who became his wife and soul mate. After his
military service he attended law school at the University of Houston
graduating in 1952 and opened a law office in Palacios. Eli continued to
serve his country as Commanding officer of the Army Reserve Unit of
Palacios until it disbanded in 1953.
Eli Mayfield was a member of the First United Methodist Church of
Palacios. He served as lay minister, director of the youth choir in the
1940's, taught a Sunday school class and served as Chairman and member
on the Administrative Council and building committee. His civic
contributions included: Active member and director of Palacios Golf
Association which he had helped to build. Active member of the Mid Coast
Canal Association. Director and member of the Board of Directors of LCRA,
serving as Chairman in 1976 and 1977. Was instrumental in getting
Pollution Control Bonds sold and managed by the Navigation District
which netted a percent of sales income to the District for the handling.
Was lifetime member and held several offices of the Rotary Club.
Prominent State and National Democratic Leader. Member and past
commander of VFW Post 2467. Awarded Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year
in 1987. Member of the Matagorda County Bar Association. Member of the
Texas State Bar Association. Licensed to practice before the United
States Supreme Court. Served as Palacios City Attorney for many years.
Served as attorney for Matagorda County Navigation District for many
years. Eli formed the Palacios Community Foundation as a way of giving
financial assistance to numerous organizations. Helped organize Palacios
Industrial Foundation which was re-organized with his assistance as City
of Palacios Economic Development Corporation. Supporter of Texas Bay
Fisherman's Association. Member of Gulf Intercoastal Waterways Assn.
Eli was preceded in death by: his wife, Wanda Fields Mayfield.
He is survived by: sons, Mark Mayfield of Palacios, Kent Mayfield and
wife Shelly of Wharton, and James Mayfield and wife Shawn of Palacios;
daughter, Wanda Lynn Blalock and husband Price of Seabrook; and by eight
grandchildren, Charity Mayfield, Faith Mayfield, Joy Mayfield, Lindsay
Mayfield, Wade Mayfield, Price Blalock, Lauren Blalock and William
Blalock. He is also survived by his brother, James Roland Mayfield of
Shreveport, Louisiana.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 30, 2006 at the
First United Methodist Church in Palacios with the Rev. June White
officiating. Burial will be at the Palacios Cemetery.
Pallbearers, Thomas Holsworth, Marvin Curtis, Ted Bates, Jr., Robert

Earl A. Mickelson, 84, of Bay City, passed away Thursday, November 9,
2006.
He was born June 23, 1922 in El Campo to Charlie Mickelson and Anna
Christina Lindblom Mickelson. He was a resident of Bay City since 1957,
a retired Interstate Trucker, and was a WW-II veteran of the US Marine
Corp.
He is survived by: his wife, Doris L. Bullard Mickelson of Bay City;
daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Tommy Saunders and Barbara and
Ronnie Bose, all of Bay City; grandchildren and their spouses, Shawn L.
and Lori Bose of Boiling, Nicole and Eric O'Neal of Bay City, and
Tiffany Saunders and Nicole Velebil of Bay City; and great grandchild:
Madison O'Neal of Bay City.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Anna Christina
Mickelson; his sister, Pearl Robertson; and his brothers, Wilbert,
Herbert, and Howard Mickelson.
Visitation was from noon until 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The
family received friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday at Taylor
Bros. Funeral Home. Grave Side funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.

Doris Lorraine
Mickelson went to be with her Lord May 7, 2019 at the age of 95. She was
born December 14, 1923 in El Campo, TX to the late Helen Ammann Bullard
and Clifford Bullard.
She was a
well-known hair dresser in Bay City for many years. She loved to travel
when she was young, in the later years, she crocheted and loved painting
and gardening.
In addition to
her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Earl A.
Mickelson; daughter: Barbara Bose; sister: Delores Turpin; 3 brothers:
Alton Ray, Charles, and Edgar Bullard; and son-in-law: Tommy Saunders.
Survivors
include daughter: Gail Saunders; brother: Bobby Bullard; son-in-law:
Ronnie Bose; 3 grandchildren: Nicole O’Neal & Eric, Tiffany Saunders &
Caitlin, and Shawn Bose & Lori; 3 great grandchildren: Madison O’Neal,
Luke Bose, and Reese Bose.

James Gerold Milliff
(February 4, 1932 - January 28, 2012)
|
James Gerold “Jerry” Milliff of
Wadsworth, Texas was born to Lawrence and Edith Moberly
Milliff on February 4, 1932 in Ridge, Texas. He went to
be with his Savior on January 28, 2012. He enlisted in
the Navy shortly after his graduation from high school.
Jerry served his country on the USS Yorktown, USS Norton
Sound, and USS Antietam during the Korean War. He
married the love of his life, Kay Rea Ottis on August 4,
1956, and shared the rest of his life with her. Together
they celebrated the arrivals of three children, five
grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. After his
time in the Navy, he attended and graduated from Sam
Houston State University with a degree in Industrial
Arts. He could design and build anything, and used his
skills throughout his adulthood. He later attended and
graduated from Wharton County Jr. College with a degree
in Radiological Technology, and worked at the South
Texas Project in the Health Services department as an
x-ray technician. Although he retired in 1991 after
becoming disabled, he continued to learn and take on new
interests, enjoying the chance to express his natural
creativity. He was active in the local VFW chapter as
well as the Association of Disabled American Veterans.
He helped establish and managed a transportation service
to help local veterans go to the VA hospital in Houston
for medical care. He was a frequent sight at Market Days
raising funds to support the program. He served on the
Wadsworth Water Supply Corporation board, and was a
member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Holy
Cross Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church and
3rd degree of the Knights of Columbus - Council 3070.
Jerry is survived by his wife,
Kay
Rea Ottis Milliff, his children, Larry and Connie
Milliff of Wadsworth, John and Tammy Milliff of Bay

many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his
parents, and his brothers Lawrence “Jim” Milliff and
Michael A. Milliff. The family extends their thanks to
the staff of Bay Villa Nursing home, Houston Hospice,
and the wonderful folks at Matagorda Regional Hospital
who took such loving care of our Paw Paw.
The recitation of the Holy Rosary
will be 6:30P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Mass
of the Resurrection will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Our
Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Fr. Jerry Cernoch
celebrant. Visitation will be from 6:00P.M. to 8:00P.M.
Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial to follow at
Cedarvale Cemetery with Military honors. Pallbearers
will be Jason Milliff, Brandon Milliff, Douglas DeVos,
Chris Ottis, Sean Milliff, Ryan Milliff, Matt Milliff

Edd Brady Miller
Edd Brady Miller, 47, a resident of Bay City died May 9 at his
residence. Survivors include: parents, W. H. and Mae Miller;
daughters, Sherry Lynn and Anita Gale Miller both of Thicket;
son, Aaron Dale Miller of Thicket; sisters, Alline Wells of El
Campo, Ann Waller of Sheppard, and Gloria Broussard of Bay
City. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 11, at 1 pm at
Taylor Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Don White officiating.
Interment was at the Roselawn Memorial Park. Services under the
direction of Taylor Brothers Funeral Home.

Howard Mizell 79, of Bay City passed away July 9, 2005 at his residence.
He was born June 3, 1926 in Bogalusa, LA to the late Eugene and Anne
Terral Mizell.
Mr. Mizell was a resident of Bay City since 1996, and was a member of
the First Pentecostal Church. He was a retired US Postal Carrier for Rt
1 in Vidor, TX for 25 years. He also was a veteran of WW II serving in
the US Army. He served in the Pacific Theater and was a recipient of the
Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars.
Survivors include his wife: Annie Wise DeVille Mizell of Bay City;
daughter and son-in-law: Mildred and Dr. Marvin Moore of Bay City; 2
brothers: Shelton Mizell of Bogalusa, LA and Dan Mizell of Covington,
LA; 1 granddaughter: Dr. Kandace Moore and 1 great granddaughter:
Karissa Moore both of Bay City. He was preceded in death by his sister:
Clarice Adams; and brothers: Floyd and Willie Mizell.
Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at the First
Pentecostal Church with Dr. Marvin Moore officiating. Entombment will
follow at The Good Shepard Mausoleum at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery
in Van Vleck.
Pallbearers will be Alfred Moya, Melvin Pennington, Charles W. "Billy"
O'Mallan, Ron Almy, Paul Bickham, Leo Castillo, and Jay Brumley.

BAY CITY [Matagorda County, Texas] Roscoe Moore Jr., 71, of Bay City,
died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2002. He was born Oct. 9, 1930, in Magnolia to
the late Roscoe Sr. and Ella Holmes Moore. He was a U.S. Army veteran
and a former truck driver with Hurley Butane Co. in Bay City.
Survivors: daughters, Sharon Moore of California and Charlotte Moore and
Kathleen Moore, both of Houston; sons, Victor Moore of California and
Jeremy Moore and Roscoe Moore Jr., both of Cedar Lane; and
step-children, Audrey Bree and Joaquin Bree, both of Bay City, and LaSha
Bree of Houston.
Visitation will be until 9 p.m. tonight at Duncan-Roberts Funeral Home
chapel.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tyree Chapel AME Church in Bay
City, the Rev. Joseph T. Garnett officiating.

MOZLEY, GORDON ALFRED
Gordon Alfred Mozley, 65, of Van Vleck, died March 31, 2000 at M.D.
Anderson Hospital in Houston. Mr. Mozley was born March 19, 1935 in Dove
Creek, Colo. to Cleve and Edna Josephine Groves Mozley. He was a
resident of Van Vleck the past 22 years and was a veteran of the U.S.
Army. He was past President of Matagorda Co. Fire Fighters Association
and is the current fire chief for Van Vleck Vol. Fire Dept. and has been
since 1986.
Survivors include: wife, Patricia Joan Mozley of Van Vleck; three
daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa Cook and fiancee Les Lind of Grand
Junction, Colo., Lesa Crowell and husband Darryl of Bay City and Chris
Davis of Denver, Colo; by a son, Wally Hammer and Tara of Grand
Junction, Colo.; sisters, Betty Jean Baldridge of Beaver, Ark. and Edna
Josephine Kopun of Kodiak, Alaska; brother, George W. Mozley of
Maysville, Okla. and Harry Keith Mozley of Kodiak, Alaska; and six
grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and two brothers.
Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2000, at Taylor Bros.
Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Steele officiating. Interment will
be in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Van Vleck.

HOWARD FREMONT MOZLEY, SR.
Graveside services for Howard Fremont Mozley, Sr., 79, of Palacios, were
held Jan. 26, 2006 at Hawley Cemetery near Blessing with Bro. Shan
Jackson officiating.
Mr. Mozley was born July 25, 1926 in Foss, OK to the late Earl Franklin
and Lola Gillespie Mozley. He died Jan. 23, 2006 at his residence.
He was a member of the Church of Christ, and a resident of Palacios
since 1932. He served in the US Navy during WW II, and was a farmer by
trade.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Teri Lee and Donald Kelly
of Palacios; son Howard Fremont Mozley, Jr. of Bay City, Tx;
daughter-in-law Crystal Mozley of Palacios; and 5 grandchildren, Justin
Kelly and wife Andrea of San Antonio, Dylan and Lucas Kelly both of
Palacios, and Monte and William Mozley both of Palacios.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Lois Mozley; sister, Mildred
Miller; and brothers, Clifford, Richard and Raymond Mozley.

Funeral services for Richard Franklin Mozley, 70, of Blessing, will be
at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000 at Taylor Bros. Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Samuel Appiasi officiating. Burial will follow at Hawley
Cemetery in Blessing.
Mr. Mozley died Monday, Jan. 24, 2000 at his home. He was born Sept. 6,
1929 in Foss, Custer County, Okla. to Earl Franklin Mozley and Lola

He was a resident of Blessing since 1956, a member of St. Peter's
Catholic Church, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired as an assistant
operator for Alcoa Aluminum after 25 years of service.

Timothy Gregory and Kim Mozley of San Benito; sister Mildred Miller of
Port Lavaca; brothers Clifford Mozley of Louisiana and Howard Mozley of
Palacios; grandchildren Blake, Brian and Blair Hodges of El Campo; Devon
Dillard of Deutschburg, Michelle Mozley of Blessing; Richard Patrick
Mozley, II of Blessing and Michaela, Dylan and Jordon Mozley of San
Benito.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl F. and Lola G. Mozley and
by a brother, Raymond Mozley.

MYERS, FORREST JOE
PALACIOS [Matagorda County, Texas] - Forrest Joe Myers, 71, of Palacios,
died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004.
He was born March 31, 1932, in Shanksville, Pa., to Marion J. Sivits
Myers of Ohio and to the late Forrest V. Myers. He was a veteran of the
U.S. Marine Corps, serving in Korea and Vietnam.
Survivors: daughter, Pam Carter of Wharton; sons, Matthew Cruse of
Prague, Okla., and Chris Cruise of Naples, Fla.; sisters, Gloria Morgan
and Marion J. Myers, both of Ohio; and seven grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: wife, Jean Patricia McDermott Myers; and son,
Shawn Joseph Myers.
