First Christian Church In this day of unrest among the peoples of earth, I think it will do us good if we will do a little research work and look into the history of the Spiritual Constitution of God's Covenant with humanity. This blessed old Book was given for the express purpose of regulating our conduct toward each other. Any system of laws that are so vital to our well-being both here and hereafter, we should be interested in finding out all we can about where it came from and how we came in possession of it. Next Lord's Day we shall use as our sermon subject, 11 A. M. "The History of the Bible and How We Got It." At the evening hour, "A Panoramic View of The Bible." We especially invite those who love the Bible and its sacred message to all human beings to study these subjects with us. If your love for the old book has grown cold and indifferent come with us, and we will do thee good.

The little lady arrived at the Nightingale Hospital in El Campo on January 5th. CHURCH DIRECTORY. Program of Service First Christian Church, Ganado, Texas. The great apostle Paul, God's special representative to the Gentile world, who laboured under the direct guidance of the Holy Spirit, commanded the young evangelist Timothy, 2 Tim. 2:15: "Study to show thyself approved of God. a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth." It naturally follows that there must be a wrong way by which we may attempt to divide "the word of truth," or else there would be no need for a positive command to make a special study in order that it may be done in the right way. It is when we fail to "rightly divide the word of truth" that we become guilty of peddling vain babblings which are condemned by this great servant of God. 2 Tim. 2:16: "But shun profane and vain babblings for they will increase unto more ungodliness." A lack of respect for a truth saith the Lord, is directly responsible for the ungodliness in the world today. Sunday, Jan. 20th, 11 a. m. our sermon subject, will be "How to Study the Bible."
A lack of faith in God's
written word brings into the human heart a lack of trust both in
God and one's fellow beings. It is among those who have the
greatest faith in God's word, that you will find the greatest
faith manifested towards our fellow beings. I, as an individual,
have no patience with modernism. The Bible is the inspired word
of God to me. Now the apostle Peter says, 1 Pet 3:15: "Be ready,
always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason
of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." Next Lord's
Day evening we shall give you some of the many reasons why we
believe the Bible to be God's word. The subject will be: "Why I
Believe the Bible to Be The Word of God." You and your friends
are welcome! Bring your note books and pencils and let's study
God's word together, if you care to do so.

First Christian Church When we become physically weak, there is danger of is losing our physical equilibrium and fainting. Fainting is always a sign of weakness. The term is defined as "to become feeble," "to lose consciousness,” "to lose courage and hope, to become spiritless." It naturally follows that when, we become lifeless, we lose our sense of knowledge; thus hope is banished because we have lost factor for regaining life by which hope is banishes because we have lost the factor for regaining life by which hope is impelled.. For one to faint, the inevitable result is to fall. The trend is always down and not up because of the law of gravitation. Now there may be plenty of support all around the falling individual, but because of the loss of mental knowledge he or she goes on to the ground. This gives us a picture of christian people in this old wicked, world. Next Lord's Day, Feb. 10th, we shall use at the morning hour for our sermon subject, "Fainting Christians." At the evening service, "Falling Christians." These are kindred subjects and should, be studied together to be properly understood. If in need of a church home, make your church home with us. All are welcome at our services. We offer no creed but Jesus Christ. No book discipline but God's written word. No plan of salvation but the gospel of Christ.

First Christian Church In all probability, the greatest blessing that ever came to mankind lies in the fact that the heavenly Father gave all human beings the opportunity to become the sons of God, who would recognize Him as their heavenly Father. We often ask folk: "Are you saved? Are you a Christian?" In nine out of ten answers folk will say: "I hope so, I'm trying to be." We may ask the question: Are you an American? The answer is emphatic yes. Why all this hope so, I am trying to, business in your religious experience? I believe that we can be just as certain that we are saved, that we are christians, as we are as to your National affiliations. Suppose I ask you: Are you a married man? Would you say, I hope so, I'm trying to be. What would your wife think of such a reply to this question? Dear friend, we can be certain about our salvation and Sonship in God's family. 1 John 3:2. "Beloved, now are we the sons of God." In the here and now John says we are the sons of God. There may be some things as to future glory that we may not understand. But we know that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is." Yes, we can know if we are children of God in a very definite way. To all those who become children of God, there are some very definite promises made to them concerning the life that now is and also the life that is to come. At the morning hour we shall use as our sermon subject: "God's Children." At the evening service we shall use the subject: “God's Gift To His Children." James 1:17: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." If there is any doubt about your being a child of God, if you will attend the morning service we believe we can help you to know in a definite way as to where you stand on this score. If you think you have not been receiving your part of God's blessings along life's way, attend the evening service and let's check up on your standing and see wherein the trouble lies. We welcome you. Come with us and we will do thee good.

First Christian Church We, as citizens of the County of Jackson, State of Texas, and the American Republic, have duties that are to be performed for the on-go and up keep of said governments. We, as citizens, are duty bound to our mayor and council to cooperate with them for the best interest of our little city. We are also duty bound to cooperate with the county officials that the affairs of the county may be safe-guarded. Then comes the duty every citizen to the State officials for enforcement of laws and maintenance of same. We, as one of the 48 States of the Union, are bound by the Con stitution and Constitutional Laws of America to up-hold and defend her rights among the other Nations of the world. Any citizens that refuses, to do this is looked upon as a traitor to his country. But believers in Christ have another citizenship that is of greater importance to them because it has to do with eternity. Eph. 2:19, "Now therefore ye are no more strangers, and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God." If we become negligent concerning our spiritual citizenship in the kingdom of God, does it not stand to reason that we are traitors to our God and His Christ? We shall begin a series of sermons on Christian Duty next Lord's Day, March 3rd. The first in the series will be "Our Duty to God." The second will be "Our Duty to Christ." Come, let us these subjects in the light of the teaching of God's word and all be spiritually blessed. You need Christ, and Christ needs you. You need the Church and the Church needs you. You and your friends are welcome to all our services.

First Christian Church Each individual citizen in the commonwealth of Texas has a duty to themselves. For each citizen to function, to the full extent of their potential opportunities, must of necessity, discharge this duty toward themselves in order to attain to the highest ideals of citizenship. Now in kingdom building, we must maintain this same principle of citizenship in the common wealth of Spiritual Israel. Next Lord's Day we will deliver the second two sermons in a series on Christian Duty. At the morning service we shall discuss "Our Duty To Ourselves." At the evening service the subject will be "Our Duty to One Another." We especially request all members of the Christian Church to attend these services in order that we may more fully understand our spiritual relationship to ourselves and toward each other. Our religious neighbors are cordially invited to worship with us. Be sure that you go to church somewhere next Lord's Day. You are welcome with us.
