Honoring our Civil War Military
Enlistees usually entered a Civil War military unit from their home county.
Here is a list of Civil War Companies organized in Lucas County, OH. and MI. As the war continued companies were often combined due to the large mortality rate.
1st Regiment, Michigan Cavalry, Company E
Organized in Detroit, MI late August to September 1861 and mustered in on
Sept 13, 1861 heading for Washington, DC. They served on the Union side.
When the war ended these men were mustered out on March 10,1866
in Salt Lake City, UT.

100th Regiment Ohio Volunteer Infantry;
Organized in Toledo, Ohio between July and September 1862.
Duty in Greensboro, North Carolina. Mustered out June 20, 1865
and discharged July 1, 1865 in Cleveland, OH.
Company A men were primarilly from Toledo and Perrysburg
Company E men were from northern Fulton Co. and Toledo
Company F enlistees were from mostly from Waterville and Maumee.
