Stafford County Lookup Volunteers
COPYRIGHT: The USGenWeb Project
Official Policy
USGenWeb will not tolerate any copyright violations. Lookup requests
should be limited to one name, or perhaps two if it is a married couple.
Information given will be minimal, for example if it is a cemetery lookup, the
information will be the name of the cemetery and the dates on the headstone.
Please do not ask for "everybody with X surname" or an entire family group, or
for hardcopies to be mailed; the volunteers have been asked not to comply with
such requests. Our lookups will extend to searching the book to determine if the
book would be helpful to you in your research. Should the book prove useful, we
can provide the authors address and ordering information. The USGenWeb Project
will endeavor to get a WRITTEN statement from each copyright holder which
stipulates which books may be used for lookups.
Feel free to request reference information from the following resources. Please limit your request to one name per request. Please enter STAFFORD COUNTY REFERENCE in the subject line of your request to insure the message is not overlooked or accidentally deleted. In the first line of the message please enter the name of the book from which you are requesting the information.

Our genealogy volunteers are willing to do research look ups that are available to them. The genealogy look ups are "FREE OF CHARGE". Volunteers may ask for reimbursement charges for copies, postage and travel expenses. Please Allow 5 - 10 days for your volunteer(s) to answer your look up request. We do get lots of people needing "Look Up Requests", so please be patient while they work quickly on them.
I am presently going back to school to get my genealogist certification. If there is any research you need done in these areas [Stafford/Fredricksburg/Spotsylvania] just let me know. The more hours I spend researching counts towards my certification. I'm also going to start going to DC at least once a week as soon as my schedule permits, so I'll be able to look up records at the Archives for people who can't get there.
