Rockingham Co. Cemetery Project An ongoing project by the Harrisonburg/Rockingham Historical Society to walk and record all of the church, public and private cemeteries in Rockingham County. Updated 03-28-2009

Friedens Lutheran and Reformed Congregations of Rockingham County, Translated Records Scanned images of a book containing over 1800 Baptisms and over 2500 Communicant names.
Friedens United Church of Christ Cemetery This cemetery is one of the oldest in Rockingham County. A few stones date from the mid 1700s and the names of many of the earliest settlers of the area can be found there. This work, commissioned by the church and transcribed by Sandra Huemann-Kelly, includes the entire inscription from the stones.

Early Court Minutes for Rockingham County Includes mention of many of the early residents of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County, especially in relation to compensation for provisions contributed during the Revolutionary War
Lyman Chalkley's "Chronicles of the Scotch-Irish Settlement in Virginia" These are abstracts of court records from Augusta County for 1745 to 1800. From Augusta's formation until 1778 Rockingham County was a part of Augusta County, so these are very valuable records for anyone researching in Rockingham for that time period. (Outside link)
