I am trying to determine which Fairfax family my Wm. H. Fairfax b. 1808 in VA, belongs to. Research has led me to believe he was likely from the MD contingent some of whom settled in Prince William Co. Does anyone know anything abt. Fairfax families who were in Pr. Wm? One family belonged to Hezekiah Fairfax who died shortly bef. 1840. A Wm Fairfax is mentioned in the Chancery cases surrounding his death. I don't really think he is mine but nothing seems to be known of this Wm. Anyone know who he was and what happened to him. Thanks, -- Christina

I am researching my Bragg ancestors as one of many of my ancestors who lived in Prince William County at one time. Although I have no documenting evidence, Joseph BRAGG and his wife, Susannah DOZIER BRAGG, apparently lived in Prince William county before Fauquier became a county in 1759. Also, a Thom BRAGG is found in a poll list in Prince William Co.If anyone has any info on any BRAGG in Prince William County, I sure would appreciate if you would share this with me, no matter how small or unimportant the info may be!! I am looking for any information on Benjamin KING,(wife Margaret ????) who probably lived in Loudoun County, Virginia during the late 1700s, early 1800s. I have seen summaries of a Benjamin KING will and Revolutionary War records referencing Loudoun County. Their children included Stephen, Sarah, Margaret, John, George, Daniel, Joshua, Rodeham and William.Benjamin's son Stephen KING(wife Priscilla ????) died about 1814 and his will is on file at the Prince William County courthouse at Manassas. Priscilla and her children and Ben's wife Margaret, plus at least John, Joshua and George KING moved to Logan County, Kentucky about or before 1815 and settled there.I would appreciate any information on any of these people; particularly Benjamin and his predecessors and contemporaries in the Northern Neck area of Virginia. Thanks, -- Ira King (former email: [email protected])
There was a Rose Hill, just North of Dumfries occupied by the Muschett family, according to James Haynes essay on Cherry Hill. There is also a Rose Hill cemetery near Manassas. In the late 1850's there was a slave death reported from "Rose Hill" by a man named Weedon who, according to land records, owned land in Buck Hall, part of the larger Tudor Hall tract near Manassas. All this rambling is an effort to determine whether or not there were two "Rose Hills" in Prince William County. I've also seen a "Rose Mill" on a civil war map. If anyone has the answer please e-mail me at [email protected] If I find the answer first, I'll report it here. Thanks, -- Rhonda Jackson

My forbears migrated from PW to Ky and later on to Illinois. While searching the Sangamon Co. genweb site I thought I'd seen the admin.'s name before. Are you the same for both ends of the trail? I am descended from Thomas PEAKE (m. Lettice MOSELEY) who migrated to Ky. His son Presley PEEK settled in Boone County. Presley, Jr. moved to Christian County, IL. His daughter Margaret m. Samuel Williams of Sangamon Co. There are Peeks and Williams all over the place out there. Do our research paths cross? I'm just curious because of the coincidence of you administering both sites. He owned 500 acres on the Aquia Creek near Giles Brent's place. Gabriel is thought to be a son of Spencer BOBO of VA and a grandson of Gabriel BAUBAU, found on a Land Patent in New Kent Cnty., VA, on 25 Oct. 1700. Any information appreciated and I will share information I have on BOBO family in America and France. Charles H. (Chuck) BOBO
