Will of Mary WINCKLER

Mecklenburg County, VA Will Bk. 9, pp. 122-123, Winckler, Mary Will:

In the name of God Amen, I Mary Winckler of the County of Mecklenburg and State of Virginia being of sound mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament and desire that my property shall be disposed of in the following manner To wit 1st In the first place I give and bequeath to my sister Joanah Winckler all my loom gear (?) 2nd In the second place I give and bequeath to Catharine S. Winckler one patch work now at Mr. Worthams, 3rd In the third place I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Blackwell wife of William Blackwell living in the County of Granvill and State of North Carolina too (sic) bed quilts and a bunch of cloaths which is now at Mrs. Jane Langleys; I also give to Elizabeth Blackwell all the goods and chattels of every description which is now at Mr. George Somervills, 4th In the fourth place I give and bequeath to Judith Winckler some spun cotton sewed up in a bag now at my mothers, 5th In the fifth place I give & bequeath to Mary Tune daughter of Argus Tune my horse saddle and bridle, 6th In the sixth place I give and bequeath to Jane Wortham wife of James Wortham ten yards of silk and cotton cloth, 7th In the seventh place I give and bequeath to William Blackwell five yards of cloth now at my mothers, 8th In the eighth place I give and bequeath to my mother Catharine Winckler five yards of cloths, 9th In the ninth place I give and bequeath to Elizabeth Blackwell six yards of cloth now at Mothers, 10th In the tenth and last place I appoint my too (sic) friends Samuel A. Taylor and George W. Brame as my whole and sole Executors to this my last will and testament in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 18th Eighteenth day of April in the year of our Lord 1820 Eighteen hundred and twenty.

At a Court held for Mecklenburg County the 15th day of May 1820

This last will and testament of Mary Winckler deceased was exhibited in Court and proved by the oaths of the Subscribing Witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded, and Samuel A. Taylor and George W. Brame the Executors named in the said will having appeared in Court and refused to take upon themselves the burthen (sic) of the Execution thereof, on the motion of John Winckler who made oath and together with George W. Brame and William B. Stokes his securities entered into and acknowledged a bond in the penalty of one thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs, certificate is granted the said John Winckler for obtaining letters of administration on the said decedents estate with her will aforesaid annexed in due form,
