Mecklenburg Co., VA, Will Book 5, pages 389-391, Will of Susannah (Chiles) Brame
In the name of God Amen I Susannah Brame of the
County of Mecklenburg and the State of Virginia, calling
to mind the Mortality of my body, and being convinced that
it is appointed for all men butt to die. Being of sound
mind and memory do make and ordain this my last
will and Testament. In the first place after recommending
my soul to God who gave it to me. I desire to be
buried in a decent manner and as for what temporal
Estate it hath been pleased God to bless me with in this
life I dispose of it in manner and form following. Viz.
Item. I give and bequest to my Grand Daughter
Lucy Creath three shillings and no more of my Estate
Item. I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Hanna
Hutcheson three shillings & no more of my Estate
Item. I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Elizabeth
Burton the sum of three shillings & no more of my Estate
Item. I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Susannah Love three shillings and no more of my Estate
Item. I give and bequest to my Grandsons Warner & Thomas Brame three shillings each and no more of my Estate
Item. It is my will and desire and I do hereby direct & order that my Executors here after named shall in the first place retain in their hands the sum of Ninety pounds one shilling and four pence out of my Estate for the special purpose of discharging paying and satisfying sundry bonds executed and given by my son James Brame one of the acting executors of my late husband Richens Brame deceased, to William Creath, who intermarried with my Grand Daughter Lucy Brame to Samuel Hutcheson who intermarried with my Grand daughter Hannah Brame, John Burton who intermarried with my Grand Daughter Elizabeth Brame, to William Love who intermarried with my Grand daughter Susannah Brame, the account of these bonds being

given and considered as their proportionable parts of a dower confirmed in me by the judge of the high Court of Chancery in conformity of the last will and testament of my late husband Rickens Brame deceased. Also to retain in their hands the sum of forty five pounds and eight pence for my two Grand sons Warner & Thomas Brame, who equally entitled as orphans of Thomas Brame deceased to their proportionable parts of the dower confirmed in me by the aforesaid deceased.
The residue of my estate it is my will and desire shall be sold at the discretion of my Executors and after retaining the aforesaid sums of money and discharging my burial expenses, as also the money left in the hands of my executors for my two Grand sons Warner & Thomas Brame if they refuse to receive it, be equally Divided Viz. to wit one seventh part to my son James Brame, one seventh part to my son Samuel Brame, one seventh part to my son Richens Brame, one seventh part to my daughter Elizabeth Hutcheson, one seventh part to my daughter Kerren- happicuk Fraizer, one seventh part to my daughter Susannah Thompson, and the other one seventh part to the children and heirs of John Brame deceased, to them and their heirs forever.
Lastly I constitue appoint & ordain my two sons James & Samuel Brame and my son in law Peter Hutcheson my whole & sole executors to this my last will & Testament Revoking and disannulling all others heretofore made by me In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand to affixed My seal this 28th day of August in the year of our Lord God 1805
