Thomas Pritchett to Alexander Boyd

This indenture made and entered into this 11th day of October seventeen hundred and ninety seven between THOMAS PRITCHETT of Mecklenburg County of the one part and ALEXANDER BOYD of said county of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of fifty five pounds current money of Virginia in hand paid by the said Aexander BOYD unto the said Thomas PRITCHETT, the receipt whereof he the said PRITCHETT doth hereby acknowledge, the said Thomas PRITCHETT hath bargained, sold and confirmed unto the said Alexander BOYD one certain tract of land lying situate and being in the said county, containing by estimation one hundred acres more or less, bounded as followeth, viz: Beginning on ALLEN YOUNG's line, thence along his line west to NATHANIEL HACKLIN's line, along said line to SAMUEL EDMUNDSON's line, thence along said line to Alexander Boyd's courthouse land, along said line to the beginning. To have and to hold the aforesaid mentioned land with all and singular its privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the same by the said Thomas PRITCHETT for himself, executors and administrators, doth warrant and defend the right and all of the said land unto the said Alexander BOYD, his heirs, executors and administrators, and against the claim of any person or persons whatsoever. In witness thereof I have set my hand and affixed my seal this day & year above written.

At a court held for Mecklenbrg County the 4th day of December 1797, this deed poll was acknowledged by Thomas Pritchett, a party thereto, and ordered to by recorded and MARY PRITCHETT, wife of the said Thomas, apeared in court and, being privily examined, voluntarily relinquised her right of dower in the estate conveyed by the said Pritchett.

John Hamner to Thomas Pritchett

This indenture made this 23 (sic) day of October seventeen hundred ninety seven between JOHN HAMNER of Mecklenburg County of one part and THOMAS PRITCHETT of said county of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of sixty pounds current money of Virginia in hand paid by the said PRITCHETT unto the said John HAMNER, the receipt whereof he the said John HAMNER doth hereby acknowledge, the said HAMNER hath bargained, sold and confirmed unto the said Thomas PRITCHETT one certain tract of land lying situate and being in the said county, it being the land which he, the said HAMNER, purchased of BOTTOM, containing by estimation one hundred and seventy five acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows, viz: beginning at a corner scrub oak at the road, thence along HUBUE's line to a corner pine, thence a strait (sic) line to a corner pine on STAINBACK's line, thence a strait line to a corner scrub oak, and thence a strait line to ____, and thence a strait line back down the back to the beginning. To have and to hold the aforesaid mentioned land with all and singular its privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging to the same, he the said John HAMNER for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators doth warrant and defend the right and title of the said land unto the said Thomas PRITCHETT, his heirs, executors and administrators and against the claim or claims of any persons or persons whatsoever. As witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and I have affixed my seal the day and year above written.

At a court held for Mecklenburg County the first day of December 1797, this deed pool (sic) was acknowledged by John Hamner, a party thereto, and ordered to be recorded, and SARAH HAMNER, wife of the said John Hamner, personally appeared in court and, being privily examined, voluntarily relinquished her right of dower in the estate conveyed by the said deed poll.

This indenture made the 20th day of January in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred between THOMAS PRITCHETT jun of Mecklenburg County of the one part and WILLIAM KNIGHT of said county of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Thomas PRITCHETT for and in consideration of the sum of thirty seven pounds 10/_ current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said William KNIGHT, the receipt whereof the said Thomas PRITCHETT jun doth hereby acknowledge and therefore doth hereby acknowledge and clearly exonerate and discharge the said William KNIGHT, his heirs and assigns forever, hath given, granted, bargained, sold and confirmed and do by these presents grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said William KNIGHT, his heirs and assigns forever, one certain tract or parcel of land being and lying in the county of Mecklenburg, containing by estimation one hundred acres more or less, it being the land my father gave me and bounded as follows, to wit: bounded on the west by JOHN PRITCHETT, by the south by the creek, on the east by THOMAS PRITCHETT sen, and on the north by JACOB HUBEY. To have and to hold the aforesaid granted, bargained and sold land and premises with every of its rights and appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said William KNIGHT, his heirs and assigns forever, and the said Thomas PRITCHETT jun doth agree for himself, his heirs, exors and assigns to warrant and forever defend the said land and premises with all its rights and appurtenances unto William KNIGHT, his heirs and assigns forever against the said Thomas PRITCHETT jun, his heirs etc against the claim or claims of any person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Thomas PRITCHETT jun hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above written.

This indenture made this 20th day of January in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred between JOHN PRITCHETT of Mecklenburg County Virginia of the one part and WILLIAM KNIGHT of said county of the said county (sic) of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John PRITCHETT for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said William KNIGHT, the receipt whereof the said John PRITCHETT doth hereby acknowledge and therefore doth hereby acknowledge and clearly exonerate and discharge the said William KNIGHT, his heirs and assigns forever, hath given, granted, bargained, sold and confirmed and do by these presents grant, bargain, sell and confirm unto the said William KNIGHT, his heirs and assigns forever, one certain tract or parcel of land being and lying in the county of Mecklenburg, containing by estimation 100 acres acres (sic) to the same more or less, it being the land my father gave me, and bounded as follows, to wit: bounded on the west by MRS STAINBACK, on the north by MRS JACKSON, on the east by THOS PRITCHETT Jr, and on the south by the creek. To have and to hold the aforesaid granted, bargained and sold land and premises with every of its rights and appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said William KNIGHT, his heirs and assigns forever, and the said John PRITCHETT doth agree for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend the said land and premises with all its rights and appurtenances unto William KNIGHT, his heirs and assigns, against the said PRITCHETT, his heirs and assigns, and against the claim or claims of any other person or persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said John PRITCHETT hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and year above written.
